Not sure if this has been posted before or not, but I have a question about the WK example sentences…Is there a way to download them into a file, or make a script to compile them for self-study purposes?
If you mean putting them into an Anki deck to make sentence cards, there is an easy way to do this. Go to this website and skip to 2.2 Yomichan Setup. This is a really awesome google chrome extension that allows you to sentence mine in less than 10 seconds. Also, keep in mind that the website I linked is for “anime/audio cards” so it sets it up for putting a single vocab word on the front, rather than a sentence. So you would need to set up your Anki deck differently, and Yomichan slightly different as well. You’ll also just need to copy and paste the sentence you want onto the front of your card.
I know you can’t mass add cards, but as you’re studying in WK you can easily create a card with the sentence you want in less than 10 seconds.
Sorry if that wasn’t the answer you were looking for, but either way that is a really helpful tool for sentence mining when you’re reading.
I have an Anki deck with all the example sentences which I could send you. Just email me at kumi@kumirei.com and I’ll reply with the apkg and csv
edit 2021: These emails are often sent to my spam box. If I don’t reply within a week (I can be slow to reply sometimes) just @ me on the forums and we’ll work it out
Is the address tubacabra@kumirei.com still available?
Nope! I am only paying for one email address
Can I also haz anki deck if I email you too? :3
Sure! Anyone anytime!
Yes, this includes you who are reading this in 2023
Ha! Now that’s some insurance. Your foresight is commendable.
People in 2022 look at your date “Damn, one more year until I can get it…”
*starts plotting how to make thousands of people repeatedly ask for the anki deck*
Hi guys. Just curious, why exactly do you put example sentences in an Anki deck? To learn how to use the vocab in a sentence or …?
That, and to learn what it actually means, and where to use the word, and what words to use it with.
Basically stuff defined under “Depth” in the link below
That’s a DDOS attack on Kumirei!
using a human-net though
Edit: I wasn’t sure if “anybody” included bots so…

Yeah basically whenever you read vocab in context, it becomes a very powerful way to remember and retain information. How many times do you remember words from a situation, or from when someone said that word on TV or a movie? Studying sentences is also a great way to improve general comprehension.
Would you consider a google drive link (so we don’t have to bother you)?
I would not. The bother is intended friction. While they are now free to be viewed by anyone, the context sentences are still owned by WK. If someone with a subscription goes out of their way to send me an email I’ll send them the deck and csv, but I don’t want to make them easily available to just anyone.
I understand. They posted audio on BP via drive recently but it’s essentially useless unless you use the platform so not the same I guess.
I would consider a productive input option in Kitsun to give it a BunPro/KS approach if the anki conversion was a reasonable start…the few I’ve tried have not always worked. But then again, it couldn’t be a community deck unless it was protected for WK users only somehow.
Anyways, thank you for sharing!
If you want you could ask the mods if it’s ok to share it
I’m fine doing it by email, though
I side with your first statement, I’m sure writing ~6000 sentence (with translation) is not a small task for WK and should be protected. Clearly they are not scavenging outside native material to create these sentences
