Why isn't なか a reading for 腹 on jisho.org?

「腹」の「なか」の読み方はjisho.orgに見えないことにきづいたばかりです。どうしていますか。間違いか態とか。

好奇心だけど、全ての読み方が見えると思い、いくつかは多い読み方があります。

日本語を復習してくれてください！

Just noticed that なか isn’t listed as a reading for 腹. Why would that be? Unwitting omission or deliberate exception? (I’d appreciate knowing how I could have modified 間違い and 態と in the same way I have here, or reworded it to make it possible, if anyone can tell me. That and whether this came out polite or I needed something extra like 「間違いですか態とですか」).

I’m just curious, really, as I thought it tended to list all possible readings of the kanji - some certainly show a lot of possibilities.

It’s not listed as a reading on kanjipedia either, the website run by the organization that handles the Kanji Kentei.

I’d have to look into it more, but jisho is going to rely on other sources to add things, so you’d have to find a Japanese source that lists it as a reading for that kanji and submit the change in order to change it.

My best guess would be it’s something like, the word おなか can be written お腹, but it’s not the case that 腹 had that reading on its own.

This is exactly it. 腹 by itself is always はら, but in お腹, it is always なか. Consequently, 腹 cannot be read as なか by itself, and the entirety of お腹 cannot be read as おはら.

Yah, Wiktionary says it started as 御中 as a politer way of saying 腹はら, but 御中 then had a “relatively recent shift” to お腹 instead, so I guess it could be considered some manner of jukuji-kun.

「わざと」はひらがなで書く方が分かりやすいと思います。
あと、「わざと」はこの風に使えません。動詞が必要となります。

わざと～～する
to do something (verb) on purpose (adverb)

「Unwitting omission」に等しい表現は俺にはちょっと難しいので、こんな風にどうですかね。

これは辞書のミスなのか、それとも意図的な例外なのでしょうか。

そうですね、話相手によりますが、基本的には丁寧語を貫く方が安全ですね。

ここで言いたいことは分かりにくいと思います。
なぜなら、文のトピックがかわるからです：

This is out of simple curiosity caused by me thinking that I could see all the possible readings. After all, some kanji have many different readings.

ここは「復習」じゃなくて、「訂正」あるいは「確認」の方がいいです。
英語では同じ「review」だけど、「復習」は「一度学んだことをもう一回覚え直す」を意味します。SRSみたいに。

一番選ぶのは知れた言葉だから、「確認」はいいでしょう。

「review」より「recollection」や「recall」に当たるでしょうか？

いや、本当に「review」に当たります。

“Let’s review what we’ve learned in the yesterday’s lesson.” → 復習。「習う」ことを「複数回」する。WKの例文は全部そんな感じですよね。

“I’ve reviewed your submitted proposal” → 復習じゃない。「復」でも「習」でもじゃないからです。

「recall」はまた少し違うと思います。「一度知ったことをよみがえる・おもいだす」という意味ですね。「recall」する意図はより良く覚えるためじゃないので、「復習」にはあまり当てはまらないと思います。

英語の違いだと思います！「review」の定義はこのワニカニの動作を現在の利用で含まりません。

「復習」は英語で「review」ではないと思います。僕の観点だが、この動作はする時に復習してもかもしれないが、学ぶより思い出すのためです。

Not sure how clear I’ve made that! What I mean to say is that although you may review some of your ‘Reviews’, unless you have a high failure rate most of them will simply be recall and not include any actual revision of learning. I suppose you could use either, and the composition of the English ‘re-view’ does suggest it’s as simple as seeing something again, but per my understanding that’s not really what it means and Wiktionary at least suggests the same (in modern usage).

それで、少なくとも僕にとって、「復習」は日本語も正解の単語ですか？
