When will we get the summary page back?

Nice! Really like the tooltip information

Y’know, the one thing I personally miss about the summary page is the “Oh boy! You have more reviews!” that shows up if reviews appeared during one’s review session. I hated it at the time, but I miss it now that it’s gone.

Oh I might steal that idea for my summary page script - I’d completely forgotten about that, and you’re right it was quite useful. And probably currently the biggest difference between the original and my script summary page!

What, you thought we were gonna let it go?

Fairly disappointed Wanikani has yet to bring it back. If they’re going to rely on user scripts for (what used to be) basic features they might as well make us pay less to use their service.

I rejoin after five years and somehow there are fewer features than before

Been away from WK since March, when they took away the summery screen. I canceled my sub over it. Sad to see they haven’t brought this back. Won’t be resubbing

By now I’m 100% certain the WaniKani team has been infiltrated by Bunpro spies.

I guess I am joining WK after this has been removed but I don’t see the big deal. What was so important about this page? I have been using WK just fine without it so far. You can see recent mistakes. I don’t understand why people would quit learning because this page is gone.

People don’t quit because of the summary page missing, people are quitting because Tofugu has WaniKani understaffed on the dev side and many things don’t get fixed or get fixed with minimal effort.

No one said they would quit learning. People quit WaniKani. Who wants to use an expensive service that makes changes to its mission without explanation until so many people ask? The staff response was laughable. The summary page was just the cherry on top. Do you know how long there was neither a summary page or recent mistakes? A ridiculously long time because apparently WK can’t be bothered to come up with a reasonable schedule for changes and either didn’t factor in vacations or just used it as an excuse. There are better resources out there that are far cheaper (satori reader, marumori) or even free (renshuu.org, anki) and cover way more than just kanji with incidental vocab like WK.

Y’know what, I’m being antagonistic for no reason. Doesn’t seem like a big deal to me but it could be for others. Good luck on your studies

If it was just the summary page I probably wouldn’t have quit wanikani. The reason I quit wanikani was them breaking most userscripts.

I just got back from spending a month in Japan. It was a great trip, and I could read pretty well, and for that I’m grateful to WK.

But.

Coming back, turning off vacation mode, and trying to get back into the swing of things has really hammered home how much WK has changed for the worse this year. I don’t even really care about the summary page in particular that much! It’s everything: the lack of a summary after sessions, the random kana-only vocabulary, the changes to how information is stored that broke the heatmap (meaning I no longer have a streak to aspire to)
and then the poor communication about all of it!

Like I said, I’m grateful to WK because it really did a lot to improve my reading abilities, but at this point I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Looking back on the last year, it seems unstable as a platform.
