What is 'uni' (mnemonic used for 売る)

I am learning the reading for 売る and it’s the second time WK came up with ‘uni’. The dictionary mentions university and a prefix, but that doesn’t help to put any sense into the mnemonic. Who can help?

I was quite confused myself when I first encountered this word

Ah, so this is a Japanese, not an English term >.< Thank you so much the both of you. I guess after all the discussion I have memorized 売る anyways

Perhaps animals made edible, like these ones are thought of first.

Forum searching for food images fails for short words like this one.

It’s a very common material in a number of the Atelier games, with the player character excitedly proclaiming “Uni-uni” when they collect it, so maybe the WK staff are fans.

That might be the one they refer to. I have never heard of these games, on first research I assume they are not that common in the western world.
