Did they change the font with the thread radical recently or am i seeing things.
Font issues tend to be because of the userâs own device having an update or change in settings. That looks like Chinese (which often is displayed as a default on the internet, itâs annoying), so it could be that your device or browser doesnât have Japanese installed or set as main language right now.
I am pretty sure your device has Japanese installed, as the popup (browser extension?) displayed the font correctly.
Possibly the web browser doesnât force the Japanese variant, letting the Chinese one takes priority. Forcing can be done in the website, in HTML (in Discourse too), with <span lang="ja">
. Inspect Element may elucidate the cause.
Desktop web browsers can be forced to prioritize Japanese, but more limitations on mobile.
A Japanese learning website for non-natives shouldnât require the users to set the browser or the device to Japanese.
The thing is it returned to japanese after sometime and then it became curvey kanji (Chinese most probably) after some time.
Itâs just sudden change. Like outside of the reviews it looks normal.
Japanese is already the main language in the PC.
It is possibly a problem of web browser extensions / UserScripts. If nothing is found, try contact support or ask Mods.
I had this problem on Android and had to explicitly add Japanese to the list of languages in the OS settings. Not sure about PC.
