What does this grammar explanation mean?

I’m trying to understand a passage in the みんなの日本語 grammar guide. The explanation doesn’t make sense. I don’t know if I’m misreading it or if it’s a typo. Where is the “2” coming from? I can read the sample sentences, but I don’t understand the grammar explanation. I take explanations extremely literally, so if the explanation is at all convoluted, it is difficult for me to understand.

Would it not be the 2 as in the numbering of the grammar points?

You’re currently looking at 3 so it would be the one above that
