Yep! I usually just type in a string of random letters like “aslkdfi” 
I usually type something stupid like “I hate everything”. Definitely depends on how frustrated I am. I think I type “something” a lot.
My go-to’s are hi for meaning and ひ for reading… basically I type hi 
I just type something like a, e, i, o or u as I only need to make one tap and can move on.
However, once, I just didn’t know the answer for the vocab 絵. I thought and thought, I just couldn’t figure it out. So I typed my usual “e” and it was actually right! I lowkey had to smile, fun experience.
Edit: And to top it off, I never forgot the kanji or the vocab ever again.
I normally just enter a single random letter.

I was typing た for answers I didn’t know when I came upon 田 and た was the answer. You bet I remembered it after that. I think I’m now just typing ああああ if I don’t know the answer.
I type in “dunno lol” for meanings and “ふ” for pronunciation
I type こう because sometimes, I’m right! (-‿◦)
Whenever I don’t know and want an error I type “ko” in english or “こ” in japanese.
Whenever I’m grasping for a win, I try either し or しん since they are sooo common for me right now, but that’s a bit illegal 
I either type a/あ because it’s short, or slam my hand down and keyboard smash in frustration. Or sometimes I just put AAAAAAAAAAAAA
