Sounds good. Iโ€™m going to read A Sign of Affection (Iโ€™ve bought the book) but I would like to find my way through the scary stories Iโ€™ve missed.

Isnโ€™t ใƒ‰ใƒณใƒƒ an onomatopoeic thud or knock?

Yes!

Think of onomatopoeia + ใจ as โ€˜with aโ€ฆโ€™

ใฉใ‚“ใฃใจ

โ€˜with a โ€˜don!โ€™โ€™

This is really useful! Much easier than thinking of adverbs.

Iโ€™ve updated the vocab sheet - I hope thatโ€™s ok?

As long as youโ€™re reasonably sure that the definition is correct, itโ€™s totally fine to add to the vocab sheet!

I just got here. So ใชใ„ shortened to ใ‚“ and ใฎใ‹ใ€‚[1]

  1. ใฎใ‹ is simply a way of asking a direct question, but with a slightly different nuance to the question marker ใ‹ alone. It tends to imply that the questioner is doubting the object of the question โ†ฉ๏ธŽ

ใ–ใƒผใฃ Wind violently shaking tree leaves

Yes, I think in this case (and often at the end of phrases such as this) the ใจ is an if/whenใจ, rather than a โ€œquoteใจโ€ or an โ€œandใจโ€

If youโ€™re in the mood to read (I didnโ€™t have time today LOL), here is Tofugu on โ€˜conditional ใจโ€™.) Its emphasis seems more on on what might happen, rather than here as what did happen

Itโ€™s discussed her at the end of a loong Ammo with Misa โ€˜whenใจโ€™

And Kanshudo points out that format, which we see here, of plain form Verb + ใจ = when/ifใจ

That looks correct to me.
I looked up โ€œJapanese grammar ใใ†ใชโ€ to find Tofugu on Verbใใ†
Itโ€™s the ใพใ™Verb stem from ใ‚ใŸใ‚‹โ€ฆ I dunno why itโ€™s not ใใ†ใงใ™โ€ฆ But it does give rise to your inclusion of โ€œseems to beโ€ in your interpretation! :+1:

I havenโ€™t had time to check every question in detail so just jumping in here, but yeah ใใ† can be used to mean โ€˜seems to beโ€™ for hearsay.

@soggyboy , I checked them all for youโ€ฆ

I interpreted these garbled questioning incomplete sentences without โ€œamountโ€ but more to questioning โ€œquality/sourceโ€:
ใ‚ใ‚“ใช ใ‹ใŠใ ใ‹ (that face) is (ใ‹???)
ใ“ใ‚“ใช ใ‹ใŠใ ใ‹ (this face) is (ใ‹???)

Oh! What AWR said using โ€œsuch aโ€ is equivalent

For this section:
ใ‚€ใ“ใ†ใ‹ใ‚‰ ใใ‚‹ ไบบใ‹ใ’ใ‚‚
the shadow of a person coming from the other way also (noun phrase)
I would keep ใ‚‚also attached to the Noun, ไบบใ‹ใ’
So the English might be
the shadow person also came from the other side

For ใ‚ˆใ‚‹ โ†’ ใ‚ˆใ‚Œใฐ, I like sense 1 from Jisho on ใ‚ˆใ‚‹ best here, โ€œto approachโ€
