Some people are reading a bit above the level they’re comfortable at, so they’re going to be on the receiving end a lot of the time.
Some people are reading comfortably, so they’re going to be on the giving end a lot of the time.
That’s just how book clubs work 
and as someone who tends to rarely ask and offer explanations when I can, I can say explaining things helps me understand too. So don’t worry about asking, just ask!

Funnily enough, especially very basic questions tend to give me that feeling. Stuff I just accepted and then someone asks “hey, why is there a と here”… and I’m just thinking “well yeah, why is there a と there? That’s weird…”
Usually that leads to a research binge

Me looking around and realizing I’m already on page 27.
This seems to be off to a good start. It’s not a genre I’d generally pick up on my own, but the art is gorgeous and especially the facial expressions to detailled and varied it just drew me in. I feel like I could read the entire thing in one sitting.

The oldbies in here are here to help! I mean I only started beginner clubs like, what, four clubs ago… It wasn’t that long ago I was just bursting with questions too… And as gorbit says sometimes you realise you have no idea why X means Y, just that it does (especially if you’re very vibes based and non technical like me)

For the first part, I got that 聴く is a form of 聞く. But for 限る, when I looked it up, Jisho said that it can mean either “restricting”, “limiting”, or “be the best”.
So does this first line mean “Listening to music alone is the best” or one of the negative meanings?
I’m also not sure if it’s a separate sentence from the next line or if they’re combined.
ひっそりと誰とも分かち合うわずに自分だけのリズムは
So, based on my lookups and context, I got ひっそり = alone and 誰 = who, but I’m not quite sure how they fit into the sentence.
Is my interpretation of “Listening to music alone is the best. Quietly and without sharing with anyone, just myself and the rhythm.” somewhat close?

Slight typo here, it’s 合わずに, without う.
It’s not really a single sentence, I would say, rather she lists out how she enjoys listening to music
ひっそりと - this is actually more “peaceful” “quiet” “calm”, so maybe “quietly”
誰とも分かち合わずに - 分かち合う is “to share”, that’s in the negative, so “without sharing it with anyone”
And then the next part is actually partially on this page, partially on the next
自分だけのリズムは自分だけの領域
“My own rythm is my own domain”
Or something along those lines

It is indeed just part of a sentence, you’ll eventually get used to knowing when a sentence is unfinished and when it’s not

Another slight typo, まだ with dakuten
なにか is “something”, and に is added to this to make it the target of the sentence.
The first part of the sentence (まだしらない) modifies this something, so this is “something that I didn’t know yet”
It’s not just 出会, it’s the verb, 出会う, “to meet something by chance/to happen on something”
I’ll actually treat this as one sentence with the joined bubble
まだ知らないなにかに出会ってしまったのかもしれない
出会ってしまった is 出会う + てしまう + past, which is “ended up meeting by chance”, ended up being the てしまう part.
かもしれない is another “perhaps”.
I would translate this as “Maybe I encountered something I didn’t know of yet”

I said “noticeable”. 
Not the whole chapter - that was a spot of hyperbole there. Actually, when _Ciel posted their question above, I realised I’d stopped before the end of the reading…
Yeah, I think it’s safe to say that I learn more by answering other people’s questions than I do by just reading it myself, so please ask questions.

Aaaah, I should’ve gotten that because I know what なにか means. Somehow it didn’t occur to me that the か was part of the word. Oops.

Also some of the vocabulary you didn’t find was already on the excel sheet like とこ and もしかしたら (I added them myself because I too truggled with these words)

I’m going to reverse export my anki deck I made of from this and see if it’s any help for pre populating the vocab list. It’s very biased though since it’s full of words that I didn’t know at the time (or ones that I’ve since forgotten as well…)
I’m due a reread of this anyway to see if I’m improved at all anyway lol
