We salute you API Version 1

Quite simply, the real reason is APIv2. I don’t blame you, but I’ve heard v2 will be much better when it comes into beta:

That quote is only two months old - and I can’t wait for it! (How much for it to not be Soon™? $150? )

cough @rfindley - it’s gone by yesterday now. How’s it going?

See here

Oof - yeah, I did see that. I was also out of likes then…

otsukare! Are you making room for WaniKani Tinder?

It’s an autocorrect problem: It’s the HomophoNe explorer … Clearly no one would want to use a homophobe explorer.

@plantron was just joking around

Maybe the autocorrect was just joking around

Can we get t-shirts with that image? It’s so ridiculous it’s awesome!

Welp, this killed off some of my scripts and extensions. Really hope they get updated.

RIP API v1, you served us dutifully long past your tenure. It’s too bad so many refused to acknowledge your inevitable retirement…

Oh shoot, forgot that V1 was gonna be gone. I’ve been using WaniKani Explorer to collect all of the Vocab that I’ve been learning and haven’t found a good alternative.

Even though I’ve been here for a short time it did work really well.

Would something like this work for you?

Why doesn’t the percentage get larger beyond level 3? The old wkstats website API 1 showed that.

Works for me.

My guess is that you don’t have a paid account so WaniKani is not supplying paid data with your API V2 key. It is a guess. I don’t really know. @viet can you confirm?

API V2 doesn’t paywall data in itself. Although in our terms & services we require any non-personal application to restrict some content based on subscription.

This information can be found on the documentation website under heading “Respecting Subscription Restrictions”

For the chart like the above there shouldn’t be any fault by the API and what it is delivering.

So my guess is wrong. I stand corrected. Thanks for answering.

@rfindley can you answer @Zuira 's question above?

No worries im still here!

Not, it was that in WaniKani Explorer I’d put the API into it, and it would collect all of the current vocab that I was learning and export them into a .csv file that I’d later transport to MSWord to save as a list. Shame that the person that made the website didn’t update it in time to work with API v2, though.

I mean I can write them out, but it was just more convenient that way.

I see. then how about this? Would this help?

You don’t require a Bitcoin with every request? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

wkstats.com uses a mostly-unmodified version of Open Framework, and Open Framework limits fetched data according to the subscription. So, it’s a side effect of that. I’m sure Tofugu wouldn’t have a problem with me showing those stats based on level > 3, so I’ll fix it when I finish the site.
