Hello all, The day has finally come to put API version 1 out of commission. In a few moments after this post’s timestamp the API version 1 will cease to exist. [image] [image] [image] We officially set the hard date nearly six months ago. And the writing on the wall was inked back in July 2017. The arrival of this day should not come as a surprise. And it looks like many have already transitioned to API version 2. There will be reactions and questions once API version 1 is put to rest. Many will be variations of the same topic. We will address the most common reaction/question below. Something is broken on WaniKani website or third-party mobile app. Help! The problem is 99% most likely sourced to a script you are using. Or if it is the mobile app, then it’s the mobile app that is the problem. You are accessing WaniKani via a browser Check if you are running any WK scripts. And turn them off. Does the problem still persist? If not, try turning each one of them on one-by-one to identify the issue scripts. These scripts are most likely using API version 1. You’ll need to contact the script’s author to have them update the script. You are accessing WaniKani using a third-party mobile app The mobile app is most likely using API version 1 or has built in scripts that is using API version 1. You’ll need to contact the app author to have them update the app. Note: WaniKani does not have an official mobile app.

[image] Burnannator: That would explain why the Homophobe Explorer does not work properly. Hope it gets updated, it is one of favorite plugins… Do I want to know what kind of user script that is‽ :fearful:

[image] adideswar: anyone know when the “projections” section will be completed? is there any estimated timeline or roadmap from wkstats developer? It’s basically just whenever I get some free time. It’s been a crazy year, working 7 days a week for much of that time. I may or may not get a little bit done this week since I’m waiting on some equipment to arrive for the next leg of my current work project. But I also have house projects to catch up on, so… We’ll see.

I still use AlliCrab! the main screen isn’t able to update as it can’t access the API, but my lessons/reviews still work since it just opens an in-app web browser to do that. Makes using userscripts really simple on iOS (at least the ones it comes with). Separately, I’ve had a Google sheets app running daily for the past 3 years or so, creating a giant spreadsheet tracking my progress (which has been very slow :pensive:), which now stopped working. It lists out the number of kanji/vocab at each level (guru/master/enlightned/burned) and my current level. I know I found the original code for it, which I slightly modified, on a post here but can’t remember where – does anybody have a similar sheets app? I’m trying to upgrade it to use the v2 API right now, but checking if somebody’s already done that

[image] dcsmith926: does anybody have a similar sheets app? Would this do? [image] WaniKani Google Sheet—Pull data from API version 2 to Sheet API And Third-Party Apps This was created in response to the following: Felt a little generous and was also curious about Google’s App Script. Never used it before… So after reading the documentation this afternoon I whipped something up for the poster above. The relevant resources: Shared Google Sheet. You must be logged into your Google account. Go to File > Make a copy to create a copy to your Google Drive. You can’t do much unless you have copied the sheet. Github Gist of the App Script I wrote. This is also…

Yes! Thank you! (probably could’ve found it myself if I put an ounce of effort into searching on my own…) I wasn’t sure how to get the current SRS stage of every subject and then how to map them to the traditional apprentice/guru/master/etc… categories, but viet’s code shows exactly how to do that. (thank you to @viet as well!)

OMG, Thanks for letting me know! I just tried it and works fine past the main screen!!! You just extended this old iPad’s life and saved it from the e-waste pile, AlliCrab is one of the few apps still working on it!

Woo! Glad I could help save your iPad’s life :joy:

We salute you API Version 1
