Only one problem though. If you get an answer wrong, it no longer reshuffles it back into the pile.
Ikalou said... It seems to be a real pain to maintain a queue of size one with the new system.Bloodlotus - if you read this, please fix your link, so I can use this extension on my phone to do single mode once again! Pleeeease?? My reviews keeps growing and growing [partly] because all my half completed reviews keep coming back! I need that single mode badly!
Now if you *really* want 'Single Mode' for the time being, there is one thing you can do:
On Firefox: Add-ons > User Scripts > Winikani Review Order > Settings > Edit this User Script. Change the following:
function reorderSingle(){
//Reordering method following the 1 activeQueue list, that makes both reading/meaning coming in pairs.
//method = "SINGLE";
//reorder();
unsafeWindow.Math.random = function() { return 0; }
reorderBulk();
}
EDIT: TamperMonkey users on Chrome want to drop the 'unsafeWindow.' from the above line. unsafeWindow is used to break out of GreaseMonkey's sandbox.
Or alternatively just type Math.random = function() { return 0; } in the javascript console during a review.
Works like a charm in Firefox. Everytime wanikani will draw a number to choose the next item it will be provided with 0 (the first one).
EDIT: clarifying.
TIA!
omg feels so good to have it back again.
Oh how I’ve missed you single mode.
The update to SSL for reviews now breaks this script. To fix this, edit the following lines:
Line 3 - // @namespace http://www.wanikani.com change http to https (should read https://www.wanikani.com)
Line 6 - // @include http://www.wanikani.com/review/session change http to https (should read https://www.wanikani.com/review/session)
Edit: Viet just removed SSL in order to give script authors time to fix their scripts. This fix will still work when SSL is re-implemented.
A wild vampire appears
Alucardeck says ‘Code updated’
vanishes
After that wild vampire appeared, my single mode stopped working again. x_x
Using Ikalou’s fix worked, though.
I’m using Chrome and the Tampermonkey script no longer comes up and runs for me for some reason when I go to reviews… the only script I see running is WaniKani Override. Anyone else come across this issue?
EDIT: Sorry, just realized that I had to remove the s from https to get it to recognize the script when in reviews again. Guess I’ll change it back when https is back up and running.

Alucardeck says 'Code updated'
*vanishes*
I have to change
//method = "SINGLE";
//reorder();
unsafeWindow.Math.random = function() { return 0; }
reorderBulk();
to
//method = "SINGLE";
//reorder();
Math.random = function() { return 0; }
reorderBulk();
in order to get it to work

aramilmoonmist said...But single mode is still broken >.>Correct. I think he updated the script to be using the Firefox version (that uses the unsafeWindow call) instead of the Chrome/Tampermonkey version that just uses Math.random. I've been having to make that edit on the three different machines I do reviews on -- starting to get used to it!
I have to change
//method = "SINGLE";
//reorder();
unsafeWindow.Math.random = function() { return 0; }
reorderBulk();
to
//method = "SINGLE";
//reorder();
Math.random = function() { return 0; }
reorderBulk();

Good idea on forcing the https url - that way I don't have to go tinker with scripts in three places all over again in a few days!
Sorry, not checked this fix would work only for Firefox, will implement something for both now
alucardeck said... Sorry, not checked this fix would work only for Firefox, will implement something for both nowThanks for the try/catch and your script -- I'd be lost without it! :)
Is it just me, or is the app not working for you too? When I start my reviews it doesn’t have the button to review / the number of radical/kanji/vocab left! And its not just this, the real number app isnt working either. Is this because the SSL thing? if not, is there a solution
oh and i have already tried re installing it

Is this because the SSL thing? if not, is there a solutionI'm using Chrome with Tampermonkey, and it works for me if and only if I force the reviews to be done on the secure site. Right now it sometimes does not go there automatically, so I enter the link manually as a previous poster suggested:

I hope that's just the problem that you're having, then making sure it is "https" should solve it.

This is a big relief. Constantly switching between Radical-, Kanji- and Vocab really was a headache.

Single mode is exactly what I missed the most. I would really love to always be asked for the reading first though.
Thank you very much!
P.S. I am using your script with Chromium 30.0.1599.101 (227552) with Tampermonkey 3.6.3737 on Mac OS X 10.8.5

If it says 'https' it doesn't work.
If I remove the 's' and force it to use 'http' it does.
(Firefox here)

(Firefox here)
Manage user scripts
Click Options next to Wanikani Review order
Then Edit this userscript
Then at the beginning of the script it says:
// @include http://www.wanikani.com/review/session
add a s right after the http so you'll have
// @include https://www.wanikani.com/review/session
Click Save
Then try again to launch a review session and you won't have to change the adress yourself everytime.
Enjoy !
Either way, the script has to match the url in your address bar
So if you’re being redirected to https, then edit the userscript to reflect that. Viet will be forcing everything to https in the near future so that’s the ultimate long-term fix.
niberius gives this fix for a different app that would likely work here too - basically, cover all your bases:
"This can easily be fixed by modifying the script until WaniKani forces https for everyone.
To make this script work on both http and https you open the script and search for the line:
// @include https://www.wanikani.com/
Just below that line you include another similar line so you get something that looks like this instead:
// @include https://www.wanikani.com/
// @include http://www.wanikani.com/*
Thanks for that. This is the 3rd one I’ve had to do this for, so you would think I would have figured this out myself. But I suppose since I don’t normally do coding, my brain just assumes I can’t fix it myself. ![]()
As a note to anyone else the code already includes:
// @include http://www.wanikani.com/*
So you have to add:
// @include https://www.wanikani.com/*
As dwarefy pointed out. ![]()
Cant get to the linked site, both in chrome and ff is says 502 bad gateway…
edit: now it works ^^!
