Thanks. Could be a name server problem with my provider. Other sites are reachable - as I can write here.
Long shot, but sometimes at work my computer gets suddenly and selectively insistent about having to have both the ‘https:’ and ‘www’ put in the URL - only sometimes, and only for some sites.
After a reboot of my router everything is working again.
