Really?? I thought it was over (not that I knew anything about it, I just assumed). Do you have a feeling that it will ever be?
I also thought it was about to end, but then new arc
I have no idea when it will end. The first book was written as a standalone and I could be wrong, but I don’t think it’s the kind of series first published on narou and the like. So it’s a surprise for everyone :3 Will probably end at some point.
Thanks, all good to know! Still planning on trying the series at some point (for example, when I’m done with my tsundoku
)
Finished the VN Fatal Twelve!
see 積読 progress in my home post here ![]()
I had bought it in 2022, then it was read in 2023 by the VN club. Didn’t join at the time because I wasn’t ready to read such long things at the time (it’s almost 500k).
Went better now, finished it in two weeks! (thanks to a lot of statutory holidays haha)
I found it OK but not amazing.
Couplea weeks, read some stuff!
One more AX: アックス第155号
I read all of Dear Brother! おにいさまへ…
The farthest back manga purchase in my Bookwalker library…
Here’s a collected volume of manga originally published on the obi of physical editions of Harta: 図書室のキハラさん
And I made a lot more progress into Red. レッド 1969~1972(5-8)
quick context on Red since I think it's the first time I posted about it.
- Dry, detailed manga about (real-life) revolutionary leftist factions in Japan in the leadup to the famous あさま山荘事件.
- Uses changed names, but otherwise gives the impression (to me, who of course has no real way of knowing) of being as direct a retelling of real events as possible.
- Has the notable interesting stylistic flourish of constantly foreshadowing character death/arrests, via numbers constantly floating around the heads of characters who die, representing the order they will do so, and the ultimate fate of every character being reiterated at the end of every chapter.
- Tangentially related to Harta, the manga magazine I read, because the author (who otherwise mainly does erotic manga) writes the prose column in the back of that magazine.
Which is to say… it’s an interesting work!
ギリギリ積読ゾーン
I believe I had this in a physical edition for years but got rid of it last year with intent to rebuy it digitally, and then bought it on bookwalker with coins… this calendar year.
I can only trust that you decide in your own heart whether or not this counts in the thread.
ドラえもん(4)
… Oh yeah, also, an interesting milestone I was thinking of mentioning here is that after about seven years and 41000 cards… for the first time I ran out of new cards in my self-mined Japanese anki deck. It’s been weird not having new ones in there the last few days!
Of course, I have a handful built up now that I could import… but I think at this point I just don’t look up enough to ever get the hopper sustainably full again in the way it used to be to surpass the default 20 new cards a day that I never bothered to change. A strange feeling! I had fully assumed this would never happen and was 覚悟’d for that eventuality, so since it’s never a goal I was looking towards I suppose I feel mainly (mixed in with some sense of accomplishment to be sure) a little regretful that I’m not learning as much every day all the time as I once was…
Wow, congrats on “emptying” your anki deck!
It must be an eerie feeling. I use JPDB and have around 5000 new cards in front of me, I learn 20 new a day too, but occasionally I add a few thousand to my queue, when I add a new prebuilt deck to my queue for something I’ve read. So I’m definitely still in the stage “I don’t think this pile will ever be empty”, can’t imagine being were you are at all, but even though it seems infinite, it has to be finite and end at some point
seven years sounds like a reasonable estimate for that.
