I want to be able to talk about my job politely in Japanese I’m probably lower-intermediate in Japanese Language skills.
My job is an intersection of serious social issues and violent crime, think of working in a jail, but that’s not what I do at all. Anyway, I am looking for resources to discuss this stuff in polite ways - as it is my professional role. I commonly work with topics such as mental illness, substance abuse/addiction, topics about the impacts of violent crime, and homelessness. Basically topics I shouldn’t learn to talk about from watching TV.
I’m looking for language that would be used by people who are Police Officers, Medical staff, or Psychologists.
I’m not trying to give presentations or anything, but I do want to have some idea of if what I am saying is a polite way of going about it. Many people have questions about my job almost immediately, and after a few set phrases I’m pretty much completely out of my depth and I’d like to try to change that. But am really not sure where to even begin looking.
Any resources would be helpful vocab lists, youtube channels, documentaries, news resources. Stuff I can deep dive into and maybe learn a few things.
Thank you!
