Today is another LangCorrect entry. Technically my goal for the year was one diary a week, and though I’ve actually done a lot more writing than I’d planned for as I’m enjoying LangCorrect write now, may as well write the diary to actually work on fulfilling the goal lol.

一週間に一度には日記を書きます予定です。先週は２０２５の第一周から、これは第一日記です。
先週に、今年の仕事はもう始まりません。だから、たくさん暇はあります。暇で私はたくさん日本語の勉強して、料理も練習していました。日本語は、LCで書いて始まって、他のサイトで読者会を携わりました。今年は初めてLCで書いたけど、去年も、たくさん日本語の本を読んだり、アニメを見たり、ポッドキャストを聞いたりしました。
料理は私が下手です。2024年十二月まで、私の料理の頻度で得意もを増えて見ています。それは健康と経済のためにです。先週に毎日晩ごはんを浸かりました。今まで大体、一周に３度か４度に新鮮の晩ごはんを作っていました。他の日に冷凍食品をつかったか持ち帰りを買いました。
English Translation
I have a plan to write a diary once a week. Last week was the first week of 2025, so this is the first diary.
Last week, this year’s work was not yet started. Because of that, I had a lot of free time. During that free time, I studied a lot of Japanese and also practiced cooking. For Japanese, I practiced writing on LangCorrect, and on other sites (here and Natively for context), I took part in book clubs. This year is my first time writing on LangCorrect but, last year also, I read a lot of Japanese books, watched anime, and listened to podcasts.
I’m bad a t cooking. Since december 2025, I’ve been trying to improve my frequency and skill at cooking. That’s for health and finance reasons. Last week, I cooked dinner every day. Until know, in a week I would cook a fresh dinner 3 or 4 times. On other times I cooked frozen food or ordered takeaway.

Shadowing closer to 45 min today? It went pretty well on the whole, handled a few fast bits ok. I feel like shadowing is getting easier over time, which is nice, but the most crucial forming Japanese sentences with my own brain part sure isn’t. Maybe it’s cause my expectations started really low it felt easier at the beginning? But now I feel like I’m constantly scrambling for wording, getting a bunch of weird grammar mistakes flagged by google doc (I mean I double check them but it seems to be right most of these times), and just getting worn out by trying to get the words out. Thus the writing is a little short again; I’m tired. Well anyway, I rambled a little more about Splatoon. I mean I’ve been doing this for barely over a week basically so I can’t expect it to be easy yet? But long way to go to feel like I can actually put together half decent Japanese at a speed to hold a conversation.
でもスプラの主要な遊び方は対人戦だ。ルールは５つの種類に分けられている。ナワバリというのはスプラの鑑そのものだ。スプラでは、塗ることが全部だから。武器を撃ったら出るものは普通の弾じゃなくて、インクだ。そして、地面がそのインクに塗られていく。同じチームの塗りなら、その中に潜って隠れたり、泳いだりことができる。敵チームなら塗りが妨げになって、移動が遅くなってダメージを与える。全ルールで塗り状況が大事だが、ナワバリなら最後の時点でもっと塗っておいたほうのチームが勝つ。ナワバリではスプラにしかできない感じが強いから、魅力があるけど、個人的にそのルールはあまり好きじゃない。一番気楽なルールで、時々チームの強さに関係ない結果が出ることを感じる。ちょっとランダムだな。最後の時点が全部を決めるからこそ、3分のマッチに最初の2分30秒ぐらいの時に意味がないってすら感じちゃってる。意図的に気楽に遊べるに作られたことによらず、僕にとってたぶん一番苛々しやすいルールだろう。僕の負けず嫌い気質から生まれた矛盾だな。

Really had to force myself the last two days to get something written, but I was able to get a couple sentences written each day, plus another Marumori grammar lesson today where I read all the example sentences out loud.
今日、マルモリで文法レッスンが読みました。そのレッスンの点は’～わけがない’でした。未来で日本語を話さないわけがない！いつかきっと！

世代とテレビ
テレビを見ますか？私はあまりテレビを見ません。子どもの間にあまりテレビの番組を選択し得なかったです。だから、興味になったことはないと思います。他の娯楽をしました。たとえば、本を読んだり、ゲームをしたりしました。今は私だけのテレビはあります。まだ、あまりテレビの番組を見ます。テレビを使えれば、ゲームのためにです。
クリスマスで、両親の家に行きました。両親はたくさんテレビを見ます。私は広告の量はびっくりしました。両親は私が知らない番組の量はびっくりしました。両親の世代はテレビはまだすごく人気のです。私の世代はテレビはすごく人気じゃないのです。テレビの番組を見れば、Netflixなどで見ます。それは面白いと思います。
English Translation
Do you watch TV? I don’t watch TV often. When I was a kid, I could rarely choose the TV program. I think that’s why I didn’t become interested. I did other things for entertainment. For example, reading TV or playing games. Now I have a TV for just me. Still, I rarely watch TV programs. When I use the TV, it’s usually for games.
At Christmas, I went to my parents house. My parents watch a lot of TV. I was surprised by the amount of ads. My parents were surprised by how many shows I didn’t know. In my parent’s generation, TV is still very popular. In my generation, TV isn’t super popular. If people watch TV programs, it’s on Netflix etc. I think that’s an interesting.

I’m still having trouble figuring out topics to write about for this, much less manage more than a a few sentences. But at least I’m doing something, right?
大抵暑い天気より寒い天気の方が好きです。でも今天気が寒い過ぎて風が強くて外でいきたくない。残念だね。外で歩きと走りがほしいけど、温度が上がるまで待たないしかない。

But the part I struggle the most is actually coming up with a sentence, I mean even in English, my mind just goes blank

There’s the prompts section in LangCorrect, but so many of them are a little too meta and samey. Still, I turned the one about least favourite school subject into 3 days of posts about the Irish langauge, so some of them at least are good. I wonder if we should try set like a topic once a week here to give people some inspiration?

Another LangCorrect post today
新しい本を買いました
今日はAmazonの包をもらいました。１２月に１４枚の本を買いました。練習のために日本語の本ので日本から買いました。５の本はふりがなと物語で、他の本は漫画です。
2023に日本語の本を読んで始める。初めてはすごく難しかったです。読者会とルリドラゴンの漫画を読みました。一時間に５ページを読みました。それから、多く本を読みました。２０２４に６０枚の本を読みました。2023に対して今の私の読むのは早くなりました。私の日本語の力を上げるのですから。
English Translation
Today I got a package from Amazon. In December, I bought 14 books. Because they’re Japanese books for practice, I bought them from Japan. 5 of the books are novels with furigana, the rest are manga.
In 2023, I starting reading Japanese books. The first time was very difficult. I read Ruri Dragon with a club. It took me an hour to read 5 pages. After that, I read a lot of books. In 2024, I read 60 books. Compared to 2023, my reading has become faster. That’s because my Japanese ability has improved.

Struggling a bit, kinda depressed recently and not doing as much Japanese, but I did do some shadowing yesterday and today though maybe a bit less than before. I am continuing to ramble about Splatoon – would like to be writing more but here’s the product of yesterday and today
I at least don’t have issues thinking of things to ramble about, just get annoyed at the slow pace it takes to get them out in Japanese, heh.
ナワバリはスプラの唯一のランクなしルールだ。誰でも、腕前に関係ない、軽い気持ちで遊べるんだ。それに加えて、４つの「ガチマッチ」がある。名前通りナワバリより普段はテンションが高い。まずは、ガチエリアだ。ナワバリのように、塗り状況が勝ちに直接関係してる。だが、ステージの全面じゃなくて、ステージの真ん中に長方形のある場所を塗らなきゃ。そうすると、時間が経つと共にポイントが溜まっていく。一般的なシューターゲームの「king of the hill」のように。簡単でわかりやすいけど、私的には肝心な目的エリアが一定位置から動かないのはちょっと好きじゃない。エリアを取ったら、自動的に勝ちにどんどん近づいていくんだから、後は敵のベースを攻めてリスキルを狙うだけだ。
二つ目のルールはガチホコだ。このルールの名前はしゃちほこ（鯱）からきたんだ。ホコを持って、敵のベースへ運び込むのが目的だ。ホコを持ったら移動速度が遅くなるし、普段の武器が使えなくなる。よって、ナワバリより面白さがあって全面のステージをちゃんと使ってるんだ。しかし、ホコを持ってる人の動きがすごく大事になって、かつ他の3人がその人の防衛をしなければならない。この二つの特徴を考えると、俺が時々味方に腹を立てるのは当然だぜ。なにをバカなことをしやがってるんだお前ら！！ってｗ。より多くの時にバカなのはこの僕かな。

Getting shorter with these lang correct posts as the week drags on, but still keeping the streak up.

私は時々外国に行きます。博物館など名所などに行きます。他のときに友達を遊びに行きます。私は多くアメリカ人とエギリス人の友達があるから、度々アメリカとエギリスにいきました。
