I’m using Chrome 66.0.3359.139 on Windows 10 (1709) (16299.371) and when WK autoplays one of the vocab audio files, it often clips the first half a second or so, so it doesn’t play correctly – like Chrome was not expecting the audio to play and misses the first bits.
If I hit the play button again manually after that it usually works.
Has anyone else run into this? Does anyone have suggestions on settings or workarounds?
I can’t reproduce this but my Chrome version is not exactly the same as yours (65).
Can you confirm that this only happens with Chrome? Have you tried using other browsers? Can it be a problem with your sound system/headphone/speakers? Just want to rule out things.
I think I’ll have to wait until I have more reviews to test it! I’ve also noticed it on my Fedora 27 Linux/Chrome machine as well, so it’s at least not just one system, but it might have something to do with my configuration(s). I’ll try Firefox when I have reviews next.

Hmm, I lied – I have lessons available and I can use these.
So it seems like the problem might be that on both systems I’m using HDMI audio, and the TV/monitors take a second to start receiving audio?
So in Firefox, the problem is actually worse – I can press play on しかたがない and it clips the し every single time. However, if I go back to Chrome and play a youtube video – with the volume at 1% – and press play in Firefox again, I get very clearly the FULL audio clip.
It seems like both of my audio setups are just lazy, and turning off when it’s fully mute – and missing the wakeup. I think Chrome might take a little longer to cease playing audio than Firefox does, so the channel stays open longer, which is why pressing play a second time in Chrome helps.
I guess that will teach me to dare to study WK without a constant stream of “lofi hip hop radio - beats to relax/study to”.
