Okay, I’m very late to start this volume aaah, sorry about that! I ended up joining so many clubs and starting so many manga that I got confused and had to slow down before picking this one up.
Caught up now! I just finished chapters 27 and 28 - loving the art so much!
ch 28
Agree!!! I love that he’s happy about winning the match rather than insisting on being the only one to score a point (which I feel like is pretty common in the sports anime I’ve seen).
More gorgeous shots of Sendou dominating! I can’t imagine reading this without digging English basketball terminology from the depths of my memory
Ch 30
Ahaha Rukawa figured it out! I’m curious if this turns the game around. Sendou can tell Rukawa figured it out, so maybe he can pull out more tricks too?
I wonder if Sakuragi will play…
Nail biter ending but I’ll stop there!
I’m SO sorry about how long I took to catch up. I’ve been sick for a while and struggling with an overload of work, and also yet to update my study log here (I’ve been drafting it for more than a week now )
ch 29
lol I love these spreads so much - it’s refreshing to see someone else dominating and I also love the flash panels (where we see everyone’s shocked faces; that’s so cool and adds on to the pressure/build-up of the game and also reminds me of several sports anime I’ve seen before)
On that note, the Slam Dunk anime seems to be more popular among WK folks compared to the manga I think I saw Lisaveeta and Malinkal talking about it on their logs hahah
ch 30
Sendou’s face after Rukawa said, “さあ行こーか” looks like he’s surprised that the cat can finally talk and is looking forward to messing around with it honestly
woohoooo we got such an awesome shot (is that what you call it?) from 赤木!!! I can’t stop here now, can I?
ch 31
oh wow something clicked and the team is really on a roll here
I’m feeling bad for Sakuragi though - poor thing can’t wait for his turn to shine ahaha
I might come and catch up to both of you in a month or two when I finish the anime off and have some reading time to devote to it. The manga I have trauma towards from trying to read very early on in my learning and not being able to understand a word of, but now I’ve dealt with my trauma and am able to read it pretty easily I’ll get around to it eventually. The anime’s got me in a basketball mood at the moment
Yes can sympathize, it was my first rough young male slang manga . Prath and I were going a page at a time in the beginning, the first volume took us months
Hello hello! I’m so sorry it took me more than a month to catch up, haha. Just wanted to update @mitrac that I’ll be catching up this weekend! How far along are you?
OMG so I missed this message , sorry! I just came by to see where we left it when you mentioned volume 5 on another thread. I stopped at 33 and was waiting, I didn’t want to pressure you! Did you finish this one? I still need to read Ch 34-35 for this volume
No problem, I completely forgot to follow up and update here, I’m so sorry. I just checked my reading pile and I also have the last two chapters left lol. I remember doing a glimpse read of sorts and I was planning to do another read through properly, and then it slipped out of my mind.
