Ribcage radical won’t load on iOS on the tsurukame app. Tried logging out and back in, clearing cache, restarting, refreshing, nothing is doing anything. Any ideas?
The radical also has a very different font on Chrome for Windows than every other radical.
Both of these are likely because it’s neither a real radical (which mostly have Unicode characters of their own), nor a kanji by itself so wanikani serves it as an image.
I have this problem too. I couldn’t find a way to contact the developer to flag this, or any way to report a problem.
An issue has been posted on tsurukame’s GitHub:
This isnt an issue of 3rd party apps, its wanikani sending it as an image rather than an unicode character, 龶 (U+9FB6). lets hope the wanikani team will change it soon!
Tsurukame does have support for svg images, though; it uses it for characters such as kick and elf, so there appears to be something different about this character.
(Not sure if the fact that it uses elements is revelant. All the others I’ve checked have only used elements. Seems strange that SVGKit wouldn’t be able to handle that, though.)
That being said, it does indeed seem like it would be better if they used the Unicode character.
