Review Amounts Changing Randomly

I did 10 lessons this morning and when I went back to the dashboard to find something kinda weird. The review amount changed by like 20 or so. But not just at the 2pm time slot (I did the lessons at just about 10am, maybe a little before), the review amount also changed in the present (I think they decreased by like 5) and at 1pm. This is probably one of my other really stupid questions, so the answer is probably really simple, but thank you for any help you can give.

Did you do any reviews as well?

I only did one, but I didn’t have very many so I thought I’d rather get a few lessons done instead and do the reviews later.

Sooooo it happened again. But this time the reviews were just pushed back a few hours instead of random reviews being added. I don’t know what’s going on but it sure is confusing :sweat_smile:

Are you using any scripts on the website or are you using a mobile app?

Well I use it on mobile most of the time, but on my computer I have probably like 10 scripts downloaded? I noticed though that every time this has happenedI’ve had multiple tabs open on WaniKani, so I’m guessing it might be a syncing error. Idk does that make any sense?

Hm, we had this issue in the past where having WK open in multiple tabs would cause issues, but it should’ve been fixed already. I would think it’s more of an issue between whatever third party mobile app you’re using and the website not syncing up, or possibly the scripts you’re using. I would suggest trying to do reviews only on the website without any scripts on for a few sessions to really see if this issue persists.

Do you make sure you sync the mobile app before and after using it?

On Tsurukame, you can do this by pulling down at the main screen:

That way the state is preserved for when you want to use the website.

well i don’t use a mobile app just the website. sorry i probably should have clarified that

Ohhh I see. Well if you have a review session open on your mobile browser and on your computer at the same time, that could definitely mess things up so I’d suggest making sure you don’t have it accidentally open at the same time.

Try turning off the scripts and just sticking with the computer and see if it reoccurs. And then try doing mobile sessions and let us know how that goes if you still have issues at hello@wanikani.com.

i haven’t gotten the issue since i closed any extra tabs, and otherwise no problems so it’s going good.
