I noticed that if I make a typo or even a direct mistake when doing the reviews, if I shutdown and go back in quickly, I typically have a chance at doing it right the second time through without have it count as a mistake. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes. This is common enough, iirc. If you need to do this, using the Ignore Script is far more convenient.
