Reading mnemonics are unusual: 喉頭 and 叩頭

In both cases, the mnemonic is とうきょう despite both being こうとう?

Or is it just my reading of the mnemonic?

I think the とうきょう is supposed to only refer to the second kanji, to remind you of the unusual とう reading for 頭。

It says, ‘You haven’t learned this reading for yet, so here’s a mnemonic:’

They’re assuming you already remember the こう readings for 喉 and 叩。
