HOME POST Back to checking in again! Had some more fun with 世界から猫が消えたなら. It has become more challenging now, yet I do also remember some Kanji which show up quite often more easily now. Progress! Also started a new Manga, and it’s absolutely beautiful at times. Not sure about the story for now, but can’t wait to read more.
Have been reading everday, yet was a bit to tired to update in the evening.

Played 1.5 hours of AI: The Somnium Files, not a book technically, but I’m definitely counting it, sooo much text.

- Finally out of the fantasy section of Elf-san, though this little segment one flowed a bit better. Looking forward to the slice of life bits that are coming up next.
- A brief stop back in Grill of Our Love 8… definitely a series that is getting easier and easier as time goes on (especially after a light novel, you really notice the relative paucity of dialogue)

I started the next volume of Steel Ball Run. It’s good but I feel bad for a certain character and I’m also not sure Mountain Tim is my favorite still

I am officially in too many book clubs again. Currently sort of at 12.
I’m in 6 manga clubs (which I’m keeping up with fine). Then technically still finishing the intermediate dictionary while starting the advanced one. Then I’ve got 4 book clubs - 2 short story books, the ABC which I’m weeks behind on, then the Natively beginners LN club which I have yet to start.
Oh and I’m planning on joining the IMC next week, so really have to finish something.

Well, one bookshop trip and two starbucks (Starbucki? Starbuckses? Starbuckeese?) later, I’m pretty sure this is comfortably my biggest ever novel reading day!
122 pages at the time of writing! Think I’m done for today reading wise. It also didn’t feel like I had to push myself to read on and on! It was just fun to sit around different places and read for 4 or 5 hours.
Reading notes:
- I forgot how much I like the section in コーヒーが冷めないうちに where 房木 spends two months trying to figure out the letter from 高竹 word by word as a result of him not being able to read.
- 君の名は is a lot easier to parse as a book rather than as a film when it comes to figuring out who is in which person’s body at what time.
- My least favourite part of 君の名は by far, in both book and film, is when 三葉 and co are trying to shout everyone away from the danger zone. Going to have to push through all of it tomorrow to get it over with.
- Chapter 2 of コーヒーが冷めないうちに is still the superior chapter in Japanese as well as English (although my favourite chapter of any of them is in book 2, so I’ll have to see how that fares in Japanese eventually).

Could have chosen the option that would have led to a much shorter scene and also the one I’ve already read before but I chose differently this time as it features the character I’m throwing the main character at and was err… rewarded with a bunch of expository dialogue that took a while to untangle.
