サイレント・ウィッチ - Vol 5: 79.49%, → 82.54%, 29m
Just a little bit of reading
19 July
よつばと 130pg → 138pg I was so tired as id spent a long day out with friends, alongside a mild headache, so reading was a bit aaaaa. But i read stuff, looked up some words like 肩たたきand 影うすい, both of which i greatly enjoyed. So its a win in my books. Hopefully i get to read a little more when im back home.
20 July
よつばと138 → 144pg
Some more fun words that stuck out to me.
連休 consecutive holidays!
わたあま candy floss!
21 July
レンタルおにいちゃん 123 ->162pg
I got really invested and read quite a bit (for me at least). I really wanted to finish the book but i ended up getting tired a couple of pages before the end and my comprehension plummeted.
Also, after hearing / seeing it so many times I’ve finally managed to figure out that 言った通りmeans ‘i told you so’ or something along those lines as far as i can tell. So that was good.
Edit: looking back im missing the 18th July. On the app i use to track the time i spend, it says i read for a grand total of 8 minutes. I’ll mark it down but i should try to keep better track of what I’ve read in the future.

Finished the level 2 tadoku reader I started yesterday and then read another one. I think level 2 is a pretty good level for me to read at this time, with the occasional lookup (I know the tadoku method technically doesn’t call for looking things up, but I’m still working on tolerating ambiguity).
I also read the sample pages for a manga on bookwalker and found it not that bad (with a few lookups) so maybe I’m at the level where I can look into some reading materials other than graded materials.
And I attempted to play a bit of Stardew Valley in Japanese. An hour of giving myself a headache trying to draw kanji in jisho ensued. I certainly won’t be doing that again soon, at least not without some decent way to look up the kanji (either I’m bad at drawing the kanji, or jisho is bad at recognizing them).

Normally ゆびさきと恋々 is pretty easy to read but these were 8 frustrating pages.

have you tried the radical search function instead? it can be trickier to spot certain radicals in pixel font but it should help narrow down what you’re looking for
I also recommend this tool for searching by radical, it makes things a lot easier than jisho:

What I mean is that today’s session included an explanation about lithosexuality and featured a word or rather phenomenon I’ve never heard before which was 蛙化現象 = “frogification phenomenon”.
I took a quick look at an article and a hinative post to make more sense of it. The latter offered this short explanation:
“蛙化現象” is a psychological term that refers to the phenomenon of developing a dislike for a person you have a liking for when it becomes apparent that he/she has a liking for you.
The phenomenon is called the “蛙化現象” in reference to the Grimm’s fairy tale “The King of Frogs” because the “person you liked” becomes so opposite that you feel “physiologically impossible” to like him.
The Frog Prince; or, Iron Henry
(German: Der Froschkönig oder der eiserne Heinrich, literally “The Frog King or the Iron Henry”) is a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm and published in 1812 in Grimm’s Fairy Tales
The “蛙化現象” is trending in social media not only in Japan but also overseas, and is similar to the nuance of “ICK”, although the original meaning and intent are different.
