Not read as much over the weekend as I’d have liked, but I’ve been busy working on portfolio stuff, so still productive in other areas.
Finished up Vol 5 of Bluelock and moved onto Vol 6.
Made a small dint in this week’s reading for FMA but this section is super tricky for me, lots of new vocab which is making reading a little tiresome Going to switch up tactic for this one and just chip away at a page or so every couple of hours to avoid burnout.

Mostly read nhk easy news and learned some words from there. Also feel really good about reaching the 8000 words logged in JPDB. I want to try to reach 10k mined words by the end of the year. It’s cool using the JPDB Reader plugin and seeing fewer and fewer words get highlighted as unknown on a page. I feel like I was stuck at around 4k,5k words since years but I can actually slowly feel my vocabulary improve again, which is great… Wanikani is helping a lot in that, just this morning I saw a news article about the Chiba prefecture and was like “Hey I can actually read that prefecture name!”

Half of chapter 6 of ウスズミの果て today. Usually when I’m reading with a club and there is a split chapter I read the whole thing, but the amount of text was unusually dense and there was a lot of unknown vocab, so I stopped at the halfway point.
i’m not gonna count yesterday. i did read some jp text but i didn’t really set out to read, if that makes sense. i…still haven’t started revenant gun yet. in my defence i finished yakuza 7 instead.
予知夢 continues to be enjoyable, even if yukawa will occasionally make some wild leaps in logic. like, bro, there is no way you can definitively state that, you’re making things up
タクト - baton (it’s from german)
ブルゾン - blouson (it’s from french), jacket gathered at the waist. image searches suggest something more like a windbreaker.
見舞う - specifically the ‘to attack, to hit, to strike’ meaning
じわじわ. last chapter turned out to be unexpectedly graphic, even went to book club for that week to read up on club’s reaction afterwards www

first anime i tried to watch with jp subs is takagi-san. got only through first season but damnnn i was sitting half the season with a dumb smile on my face coming from these cuteness levels
Got through day 1 of the trial for 逆転裁判、back to 探偵 mode for a bit. Enjoying it a lot but will probably take a break after this chapter to read some other longform prose again.
finished the second story in 予知夢 and, yeah, the leaps of logic are pretty egregious but i’ll let it slide this time cos it’s entirely in line with what i was expecting

More Island today, 5000 characters. After a slow start, this part of the VN is really taking off now. I don’t want to stop! But 5000 characters is enough for today. I can always keep reading tomorrow!
on to the third story in 予知夢 which for once hasn’t started with a murder (tho there may still have been a murder). ended up reading a bunch of journal entries in bravely default cos i had the spare money for more gear
