Oh, and I think デナリ refers to the denarius, which was a roman coin. I initially thought it was some weird grammar but written in katakana.

Yeah this is part of the game’s feature where you can just go to a little hub and chat with your demons briefly to flesh out their personalities, so lacking all context it just drops these two lines on you. Other than not knowing about the currency I basically understood all the words here but definitely wasn’t making anything very sensible out of them without knowing about the biblical reference. This game doesn’t go easy with this stuff.
A week of mostly not keeping up with reading. On the other hand, about 4-5 manga are consistently up to date, and some of the rest are on a break (Spy x Family we’ve now reached the end of volume 13, which is as far as it’s published so far; 紡ぐ乙女と大正の月 has reached the end of the volume, even if I haven’t).
And I finished セーラー服と機関銃! So no longer reading multiple books at once.
The next week or two are not looking good for reading though. I’ll aim to read a bit but may fall further behind.
Hit my stride with ふつうの軽音部 and tore through the rest of the book? I… might need to continue this one sooner rather than later. It’s really in the sweet spot of difficulty and challenge while still being understandable and having a story I want to follow. Also there’s only two vols out so it’s totally followable right now
4800 characters from Island today, to the end of a section and the beginning of a new section . Have I told you that I love this VN? I want to keep reading but I also need to let the end of the previous section sink in a little. There’s something about reading a VN that really pulls me in, in a way that I have never experienced before. I don’t want this VN to end!
I started the next book in the series. Other than that I spent most of the day on zoomies (zoom meeting) with classmate. Wanted to help them regain motivation to study for reexam. It was nice to review notes about ocular pathology from class. Highly relevant for work.
Same as usual with Umineko, inundated with words quickly but I got close to 6,000 characters before that happened which is… progress, kinda. SMT5 is going alright so I’m doing fine in total despite these low numbers. Word that amused me the most today was probably 有閑マダム (ゆうかんマダム), which jisho translates to “bourgeois wife.”
Still lots of terms related to stocks, assets, etc, with a lot more discussion of gold ingots and that sort of thing mixed in.
Started Ms Elf ８. Forgot what happened in the last few vols, but it seems noticeably easier – think my vocab has expanded since I last paused this series (almost four months ago). Still, loads of vocab still to pick up/refresh on.

Today I read Chapter 13 of とんがり帽子のアトリエ. I think this is my favourite of all of the manga I’m currently reading, but its also the hardest thing I’m reading so its a bit of a time sink for me. Totally worth it though
and i’m done with axiom’s end! as a sci-fi story it works pretty well, and there’s a lot of consideration for how individual character’s morals clash with each other and the broader system they exist in. there were parts i found diffiult to imagine tho, and i wasn’t especially attached to any of the characters. i know there’s two more books so i might give those a try at some point. no rush tho
