read pg 265-290 of ガリレオ and honestly no idea where this one’s going but i’m sure it’ll make (some) sense in 20 pages or so. this one’s different to the others in that it’s not trying to find out who did it, or how, but prove that only one guy could’ve done it.

today’s nhk article was this one (marine life!) and special topics 5 (metaphors) and 6 (number marking) in aDoIJG

Read 5 chapters of ハイキュー!! I usually read at most 1 or 2, but it turns out that if every time you get the impulse to check your phone you read a couple manga pages instead it can really add up. Definitely more worthwile in the long run.

I also tried to read some バグ but the tablet I use to read decided to stop working for the day so there wasn’t much progress (83% → 84%) and I switched to playing some バリバリ instead ~15 min.

• 短気(たんき) = short tempered. Like 気(き)が短(みじか)い. Not sure of 気(き)が長(なが)い counterpart.

read pg 290-326 which was way too many pages (i really want a nap now) but i finished the last case! was kind of underwhelming tbh, i was waiting for magnets to be relevant cos of a demonstration earlier in the chapter but nope, they’re just kind of there. just the 解説(かいせつ) left now.

today’s nhk article was this one, plus the entries on あえて and あげくに in aDoAJG. the colour printing in the first couple of entries is really faint in my copy for some reason

• ずんずん = (on-mim) move fast. Not only walking and other actions, but also work.
• 健脚(けんきゃく) = a sturdy walker. Can walk for a long time.
• 仲居(なかい) = waitress/hostess in a ryokan
• 鄙(ひな)びた = having rural feels; rustic. From the verb 鄙(ひな)びる.
• 市街地(しがいち) = urban area
• 思慮深(しりょぶか)い = prudent; discreet. 思慮(しりょ) is discretion.
