Yes! Exactly! I don’t think I would have been able to read 5000 characters from a book, but there’s something about the VN that just sucks you in. I’m so glad that I found VNs, thanks to the Island book club!

About plot
Today things got weird. There was a man with facial hair only on the right half of his face and I was so perplexed by this sentence that time seemed to fly by. 顔の右半分にだけひげを蓄えた男に話しかける。
They had cars! Cars with wheels powered by magic! I can’t believe it. Those excavators are unearthing miracles.

more bakumatsu book, did about 30 pages of the bakumatsu book, the first ten or so of those were manga pages so a lot easier. also a couple of longer entries on single people.
today’s nhk article was this one (nandenan article), and if i manage a dictionary entry i’ll put it here in an edit

so it’s here, it looks like the human’s nodding to me? those couple of lines above her head. it’s very small, but idk what else they would be
the reaper seemed to get over being threatened fairly quickly (for whatever reason) and seemed broadly supportive/concerned across the rest of the story going out of their way to do so, so i suppose any sort of prolonged connection would depend on the human accepting and responding to that. unless holding their hand and walking home with them counts, ig that’s out of the scope of the story

I wanted to reach the end of the prologue in the VN Island today, so I read… and read… and read… and didn’t make it. I have to stop now or my head will explode. 12000 characters in one day!
Maybe I’ll reach the end of the prologue tomorrow, just in time to start the first route with the VN book club on Monday. I’m really enjoying reading the VN though. I don’t think I have ever read 12000 characters in one day before, but with the graphics of the VN together with the text, it’s easy to read just a little more… and more… and more!
