It’s been a hot minute since my last update. I’ve been reading some days and other days not. I thought I would be able to read on the long train ride, but I was too exhausted, not much reading was done. Anyway, I’ve finished book. Yay!
Also started new book. I’m trying to finish it within this year. It’s a bit hard to find peace to read while at home with family, so I’m curious how it will go. It’s good to be back home though :3

Oh! And I got Lego Horizon Adventures on Switch as a gift for Christmas, so I’m playing it in Japanese. It’s going surprisingly well. The only thing I’m struggling with is reading the hints during loading screens fast enough.

December 25th!
Today I finally finished the 2nd Orange Light Novel!
It took me 8 and a half months, which is not a great reading pace - but I did it! To be fair to myself - its been the book that I read when I’ve already done all of my bookclub reading for the week - and I’ve been in a lot of bookclubs this year so that contributed to the slow pace!

Last few days have been pretty good considering Xmas.
I’m keeping up of all my manga, and am actually a bit ahead on some, and have just finished 妊娠のカレンダー with the IBC (I have a tendency to finish the IBC books late).
It’s technically part of today, but with finishing volume 3 of ウスズミの果て I’ve met my goal of 50 books read in 2024. Technically most (38) are manga, but a lot of those are on the more difficult or wordy side so still counting it. I probably couldn’t aim to finish 50 actual books.
I’ve read 7 Japanese books (target was 5, but one was very easy), and 5 books in English. I’d aimed for 12 so missed that target, I’ll make a bigger effort there next year.

デスノート - Finished the second chapter lots of words related to investigation, police and so on. So far, grammar-wise it doesn’t seem too bad, though it still takes me a long time to understand.
Also finished second chapter of Quartet 1

Mostly watched a stream today while doing jpdb reviews, but managed to find peace to read after that. This book is intriguing. And easy to read. The chapters so far are between 3-7k characters short. Seems like the whole book is just 264 pages. Maybe a good nominate for the intermediate book club.
