Another 30 pages of さくらいろの季節 today while waiting at the JLPT test site some conflict with a new character seems to be gearing up! Ended at page 66, currently sitting at 22% finished! (Also technically reading-related: played some of the original Pokémon Ranger game in Japanese since that’s like the only game in the series I’d never played before. The font is annoyingly hard to parse for me - つ and っ are almost exactly the same size, and its just generally a bit hard on the eyes - but all in the name of practice lol)

Reached the point where it branches into new content. I’ve been re-reading from the beginning after the first ending we had just to have details fresh in my mind again going forward, it’s been a little since I last read 999 and I don’t trust my silly brain ;u; . According to the club I’m 6 weeks behind but at this pace I’m confident I’ll catch up in no time, if I manage to read every day.

Day 2!

Today is 999 day with the current VN club! I don’t have a good means of tracking character counts in 999, as the texthooker outputs a lot of extra garbage text that I’ve been too lazy to remove, but I read for a couple hours, roughly. Usually by now I’d be closing in on finishing the week’s assignment, but this one is unusually long, so I’ll have to give it another session. I’m hoping I find the time later tonight. If not, tomorrow it is. I’ve read this VN a few times before so I know what’s going on, though it’s cool to reexperience it in its original language. Reading was overall smooth enough, but I did come across a big amount of unknown words since this section was full of discussions of scientific experiments and a few very imaginative, vivid descriptions of dead bodies. Without getting into spoilers… for one, there was a little story about rats running through a maze, if you could call it that.

My major plans exhausted me. I’m still sore today lol.

Seasons was about how rice tends to look like a beautiful sea of grass about this time in the season.

Nausicaa was not quite as hard as I was expecting. It looks not as bad in the second volume as the first volume from what I previewed. I could be quite wrong though lol.

I wanted to get to Ouran, but didn’t make it. I’ll try to read today but idk what my time will be like after work. Yesterday I didn’t get to starting JoJo either. I would love to start tonight, but I have overtime to work today, so we’ll see.
