Okay, good they announce it in time. I definetely need to gain more speed with my reading, this is certainly a motivation…

All tests have been cancelled in USA until 2021… I am probably N5 level at the moment. I guess I will shoot for N3 by Dec 2021… what do you all think?

well had a weird few months that set me back a bit, but just had a 6 day 23 hr level. Kinda back in the groove. Can’t quite make 40 by the target date, which was my goal, if I were to go at max speed for the rest of the year I’d get suuuper close, but I’m not gonna hold myself to that. I’m not sooo far off, which is surprising because I basically took June off and spent most of July just catching back up.

Congratulations! The death levels challenge all, but we will overcome!

Levels have slowed down quite a bit as the heat is making me work slower and thus also study slower. Aircon is on full blast but it’s not helping. Stop with the heat! I also love-hate telework. Give me that office aircon!

(Also fixed febLey’s entry in the wiki to show up as they were accidentally on the same row as someone else)

The website of the French University I want to take the test to has been updated, and it seems like it will take place as expected

They will just limit the number of people taking the test to “320” people. Don’t seem like a lot so I guess I’ll send my files 3 weeks before the end of inscriptions.

When I see that some of you can sign up online and in France we still need to send letters … :frowning: Don’t they know young people don’t even know how to send letters anymore ? I’ll have to ask my mother to send it for me haha

Just some facts for other countries as it seems costs varies, here we need to pay 75 euros for N5 and N4, and 85 euros for N3/2/1. And sign up by sending letters (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

I’m also wondering what to sign up for. N3 and N2 exams are both in Düsseldorf, so a fair bit of drive either way. I think I can pass N3 easily, while N2 will be risky to pass since I’m still missing grammar and listening comprehension ability to pass N2.

If I pass N3, I’ve got something to show for all my Japanese studies, but on the other hand N2 is way more useful to have. Play it safe or go all in?

I signed up for the Paris one a couple years ago, without letters. Just online. I did have to send an envelope with a stamp, but I was able to hand thst in on the day itself, since I couldn’t figure out how to get the right fare from the Netherlands.

Do a N2 practice test before you sign up. If your score seems decent enough, go for N2.

Just went through the last kanji lessons of this level. I’ll see the damage later today.

I just checked, you can sign up online for Paris but not for Bordeaux and Lyon (I’m going to Lyon for the test)
So letter it is :disappointed:

All or nothing. Challenge yourself!
If you decide to do it now, then you have time to start prepping for the test with a clear deadline. Motivation man, motivation!

Hit my goal of level 30!

When I joined this thread I was level 14 and it was January. This felt impossibly far away but I made it

Classes started today but hopefully I’m able to keep my leveling speed up. I reached level 40 so I’m worried about the pacing of some of the fast levels starting at 41. My goal is to reach level 60 by the end of this year so I’m really gonna have to grind it out.

I forgot to look into the JLPT for a while and thought I may have missed the deadline for it. I didn’t realize the states dropped it this year entirely. It’s a bummer, but that means I can give myself a little bit of leniency with studying once my semester starts in a few weeks. I probably would have ended up taking N4 due to my weak reading and listening strength, but maybe if I start catching them up to my kanji proficiency I can take N3/N2 next year.

In other words, I got my fastest level up to date of 4 days 11 hours! I doubt I’m going to keep this speed all the way to lv 60, but I’m going to try and get as many of the fast levels done before school starts in 3 weeks (optimistically I’ll hit lv 56 before then). It might be in my better interest to hop back into a reading group instead, since I’m still practically illiterate at this point

Remember, if you rush until school starts, you’ll still have high review numbers by that time, and less time to do them in, even if you stop lessons.

Levelled up to 44 in exactly 4 days! Now what to do with the avalanche of new lessons…

OMG that would give me so much stress. More than 100 reviews in the evening and I would have to force myself to do reviews because I loose my motivation. But if I were in your shoes I would run away screaming (hopefully turn on vacation mode beforehand) and not return to Wanikani for at least 3 months

Here’s my forecast in comparison:

But I’m sure you can do it! :muscle:t2:
