Became Level 20 on May 12, 2020. Just using this comment as a benchmark.
Level up! (37)
I am feeling not great at motivation but I am trying to not let myself get wrecked by being inactive for too long.
I’m gonna try to post a little more on the forums to see if that sparks something, anyone near my level looking to catch these hands? (I don’t even know how to threaten anymore, I am broken)
These kinds of posts with the screenshots are so satisfying
Finally I am back to normal o/
I slowly manage to reduce my leeches, my accuracy increase in each series I am happy ! o/
Should I still try N2 in December?
I am wondering.
I want to try N1 in December 2021 though.
I Still have to start on N2 materials, lol.
Why not go for it.
Levelled up to 42 yesterday morning - 7 days and 6 hours. And I finally bit the bullet and downloaded Tsurukame - I realised that I need to have offline access for reviews over the next few weeks at least.
Man, 逃がす and 逃す . The worst leeches I ever had.
Both apparently mean “to let go” and I couldn’t find any noticable difference. If there is, wanikani is not doing a good job of explaining it.
Time to get burning (*´﹃`)
Keep on fighting on guys!!
Level 25!
Getting close, maybe I should increase my goal to 40 or something.
Recently my comprehension noticeably increased, I can keep up with podcast’s topic, I can watch japanese subtitled anime (a lot of vocabulary look ups but most of the time that’s it), I became able to have fun with the language finally. No going back now
Btw I’m curious about how @FennelFox さん is doing, I hope everything is alright. I wanna see you become level 20 so much!
The problem is that it’s quite expensive for me to take the test. If I fail, I see that as a lot of money wasted.
Which is why I want to be confident enough that I can pass it.
I think it’s better for me to just wait for the July test and continue my studies for N1 sooner if I feel confident in N2 before that time.
Kanji and Vocabulary are a continuous study not relying on N levels anyway.
Anyway, i’ve upped my game, doing 10 lessons a day again if possible, because I need a max of 13 days per level to reach 60 before December 2021. Guru pile has shrunk significantly to around 170.
One more week of school vacation, and then the grammar studies will join my daily wanikani studies.
(vacation time is when my daughter is home, which makes it harder to study)
I have to figure out a new goal for December 2020.
I’m planning to take the N5 (keeping it safe for my first ever JLPT) in Barcelona next December… hoping they don’t have to cancel it again because of コロナ though
I just checked and I’m level 42 on both! For now - I should level up in a few hours on WK.
Why? Koichi is proud of you…
I signed up for Stuttgart in December as well, N5 too good luck with your studies!
And I’ve levelled up to 43! 7 days and 2 hours.
I’ve decided the first fast level at least, I’ll try to do it quickly but not max speed. Otherwise I’d have all the kanji reviews at midnight or after. So I’m aiming for 4-5 days with this one.
I’m not going to sign up right away for the December JLPT (still a bit afraid that everything will get messed up with corona virus …) but I’m glad to see it still wasn’t canceled in France
I just reached level 7, and last time I gave up WaniKani I was near level 6 so I’m proud of myself :3
I’m going to start studying grammar more seriously and maybe try bunpro ? A lot of people are using it here but I’m not sure how well it works with concepts such as grammar (and at the same time, if I don’t use a SRS method, I’m too lazy to review stuff and forget them)
Good luck with your studies you all and stay safe ! and hydrated. My god… can summer end please ?
Likewise! がんばって!
Hopefully we will both celebrate after, I’ll try to remember to ask you how it went !
According to the official JLPT website (just posted today), from this December’s exam onwards ( "2020年12月試験から"), N5 and N4 exam section times will be shortened as follows:
Vocab: 20 min (N5), 25 min (N4), that is, 5 min less.
Grammar and Reading: 40 min (N5), 50 min (N4), that is, 10 min and 5 min less, respectively.
Listening: 30 min (N5), 35 min (N4). No changes.
According to the FAQs, the number of questions will be reduced, but the content and difficulty will remain the same. I wonder whether this will be a permanent change and I assume it is コロナ-induced.
