I’m around N4 level, and I feel like I’m at the point where I can understand a lot of slowly spoken Japanese podcasts, but I can’t understand standard Japanese spoken by native speakers at a somewhat normal pace.
I’ve been trying to listen to YUYUの日本語Podcast, but I can’t follow a word he’s saying (even though I know all the words on the transcript). If any of y’all are familiar with it, what level would y’all say YUYU’s podcast is? Should I just tough it out until I start understanding, or should I switch to another beginner-intermediate podcast?
YUYU is intermediate level and uses a lot of N3 grammar. I’m currently studying Quartet and I hear a lot of Quartet grammar in his podcast. So if you’re struggling with it, don’t feel bad!
At your level I mostly listened to conversation podcasts like Teppei and Noriko. There’s also a podcast club on the forums here that just chose this podcast which has estimated jlpt levels for every level and might be easier.

If you have the money for it there is a collab between him and Satori Reader’s team, you can read what he’s saying and click on every word you don’t understand, repeat every sentence and modify the speed at 0,8x. Just be aware that this collab is quite recent, there are of course much more episodes in his Youtube channel.
But it’s true that he speaks quite fast, if you want a podcast that feels a little bit easier I would strongly recommend The Bite size Japanese podcast. Short episodes, and you can use the subtitles with an extension like rikaikun or 10Ten Japanese reader to hover your mouse over the words you don’t understand.

Came here to vouch for Bite Sized Japanese Podcast. She’s great and speaks slower than YUYU.
This one is great too, though it’s more beneficial to WATCH than just to listen.
