And the building you broke out of in the first place contains the alternative exit (or one of them). Interested to see what they do next - does it start with taking down the secret hunting ground…?
I like that the Japanese for lemur is literally “fox monkey”!
I don’t think so. We had a section at the shelter where we got a bit of insight that different farms had different numbering systems. And we’ve been able to see from early on that the oldest five at Gracefields had the same last three digits, presumably reflecting that they are from a similar cohort. But beyond that I don’t think we’ve been given more detail that I recall.
The serial numbers of the Grace Field kids (and graduates too, for that matter) are written with the ones digit in the left-hand position, then the tens digit, and so forth. That is, the little end first.
I’m glad you pointed out the number was a big reveal. I just assumed we wouldn’t find out its significance until later, despite the illustration in between the chapters being of Norman with his number showing
We got to see the character that betrayed Minerva, presumably when he told that demon about the settlement. So, it seems they meet for more than just sending over kids or supplies. I’m very eager to see the mechanics of how the worlds are connected. Does the elevator go down and then flip upside-down? Meaning the worlds are like on opposite ends of a plane? Or do the humans live underground? Or is it more like a teleportation sort of thing?
I got the impression the Minerva family lived somewhere in the demon world, though I could well be wrong. I’ll have to go over that bit. Almost like an embassy type situation?
Chapter 74: I really like the pacing of this manga. We got that hint that Norman is still alive at the end of the last chapter, but I wasn’t expecting so much detail about what happened after he left the house. So poor Norman now trapped in a new place, but without friends to plan an escape with. And with the evil Peter Lattery to boot!
We’d really been lead to believe that Norman was dead, even though we never saw him die. His face has been crossed out in the character introductions at the start of the volumes for a while. But one of the best characters is back and I am happy about that!
I never believed he was actually dead. The look of confusion on his face in the last frame made it look like he encountered something he really wasn’t expecting.
