Well, makes a lot of sense that this new character is from the farms (and really seems to have given up). Hopefully Ematachi find a way to reason with him
Even if they can reason with him (and he seems potentially very dangerous) they suddenly have no plan. For several volumes the plan has been escape and get to Minerva. If this guy’s been here for years, with no sign of Minerva, what are they going to do next…?
I was kind of expecting this, my current theory is that Minerva is the one that supplies the Oni with the “farm” supplies and maybe one of the only humans that knows what is happening beyond the wall. How he got the hideout built is beyond me though lol
Definitely seems like mental health issues. At first I thought he had killed the folks he escaped with, given how much he seems to want the whole bunker for himself. But seeing “poachers” on the wall of the bedroom implies a different explanation. How would poachers have gotten them in the bunker though?
Also, I feel like the story has taken pains to impress upon us that escapees are rare, so I wouldn’t have thought there would be enough humans running around for poachers to be able to make a living. Unless they break into farms and “steal” them. Now that I think about it, I feel like that was discussed at some point.
I think rather than them being excited to sleep on futons instead of beds, they were excited to sleep on futons instead of sleeping bags or the ground, like they had been doing for 7 days between escaping the orphanage and getting to the shelter. Camping out for 7 days sounds rough. It couldn’t be me
