I watched the youtube videos for the books I already read, and I think some of them are really helpful to grasp the onomatopoeia that is so dear to Japanese people! The reading of おんせんたまご is super cute

I was getting quite sleepy from all the bedtime stories, but the おんせんたまご book will haunt my nightmares forever now

It has been a great option for when I find myself being idle to pop open a book!
I’m also doing better in making the kanji to hiragana connection.
That’s always the real challenge right? Keeping up the momentum when the initial enthusiasm wanes. But I am keeping the book page and the tracker open so that I’ll always have the visual cue.
Totally didn’t expect to come across うんち in two books! And now I know it. The bunny picture reminded me of the bunny scene from The Secret Life of Pets!
