Sucks when I have super early level stuff that I get wrong right before burns damn those irregular readings. Anyone got those kanji??? Care to share which ones?
Still waiting to come up on my first burn⊠Iâve been wondering how much old stuff Iâll space out on.
I donât mind getting stuff wrong, I still need to learn it. I hate when I put a correct synonym and itâs âwrongâ though, if anything I know those ones better because I know the meaning, not a specific English analogue. Oh well, I doubt thereâs an easy solution to that.
Also typos
There is a easy solution! Just add your own meaning. Even in your language, why not.
I have to tell myself that burning the Kanji means nothing if I canât articulate it. But yeah, it feels bad to be certain you know something and then space on it.
It never happened to me right before a burn but I always have issues with kanji like the kunyâomi foréł , the onyâomi for æ© or the reading for æ»äșĄ. I never seem to remember wether they end with a ă or not.
Yeah that works for next time, but by then youâre already back at guru.
I always tend to miss whether itâs asking for the meaning or the reading, especially if the reading is a single kana. I just type too fast sometimes T.T
Use the Override script. Itâs a lifesaver.
I think this is the appropriate time when the âignore scriptâ should be used (and not abused). The Tsurukame app has an on the spot synonym correction/addition too. Iâm not making WK a typing accuracy contest either, shaky trains and big thumbs are already a challenge.
This is one of the reasons I recently started using an anki deck for my kyoiku kanji. I drill myself on a minimum two readings each, and whether or not they are on or kun. It might be redundant SRSing them on top of WaniKani but the reviews only take a few seconds each, so not long in the grand scheme of things, and I feel the relatively small amount of extra effort has improved my use of them massively. I have all the time in the world to get to level 60 and the way things were going for me before, Iâd be messing up on kanji from 8 levels ago when trying to read material, so something had to change.
This is by no means a recommendation for what others should be doing, just my own experience. Perhaps starting to learn how to write the kanji could be a good system for you (and also fun).
yeah iâm having one of those days today, i put double âkâ in âeight daysâ, typing ru as ri when its clearly right in front of me, and several other stupid mistakes that knocked me down to Guru on a few things that i know!
i canât use the scripts on my laptop so i have to suck it up and think ok that is one i WILL remember next time!
have started using the Tsurukame app on the phone and that has been a lifesaver with the fat finger typoâs.
Why canât you use scripts, if you donât mind my asking?
So tempting⊠Iâm scared Iâll abuse it though. Maybe.
Itâs my work laptop, blocks from downloading anything onto it unfortunately
How do they block you from installing browser add-ons? Seems a tad excessive.
Definitely the kanji with only 1 vocab. Just off the top of my head, ćăæŻăæ. When thereâs only 1 word to apply it to (itself) you havenât seen it at all in 4 months youâll find that itâs quite hard to remember
I failed the burn on ă because it asked for the reading, and I had completely forgotten that it even had a reading.
There are ways around this but they are doing the right thing⊠The laptop is not his property⊠And you can get into a heck of a lot if trouble with your own it group⊠Stuff that isnât a big deal can quickly become a problem on a corporate network that youâre just a user of.
Youâre doing the right thing⊠Just study on the phone or tablet and you can still override if you need to and add synonyms.
