Hey guys,
NHK Easy News is a nice site for beginners to practice some reading and is a popular recommendation here. The furigana on a lot of the kanji can be very useful, but sometimes you might want to practice without furigana. I was looking around for a way to toggle off the furigana but could not find any way to do it so I made my own
Here’s my chrome extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/nhk-easy-furigana-toggle/dndemjinbplgaoacaljikaicpkdeofhi
Sorry if I missed something similar to this.
Sweet!
Not quite ready to use it yet but will save it now for future use!
An alternative is to use Firefox. For some reason Firefox doesn’t display the furigana on NHK News Easy. And if someone who is using Firefox wants to see the furigana, use another browser
Thank you! Been doing it by hand for every article till now.

Perhaps with this extension you can turn it on and off on a whim to check if you were correct, although I guess you could also use rikaichan/rikaikun for that.
Just what I needed, thanks!
