I dont think ive stumbled onto anything groundbreaking as im sure other uswr must have found this.
When going through the motions on a review session you get to the end and thats it. Obviously you can redo the lesson and all that but i accidentally refreshed the review session when doing it and it started from the beginning which at fiest annoyed me. I did it again by accident in the same session (on my phone) and foubd that i was spending longer practicing in one sitting. Ive got to a point now where i dont complete the review right at the end but instead refresh the page and start again. I just thought it might help other users if you didnt want to wait for more reviews.
Thanks
UPDATE: I think it must have just been a glitch or something because i cant simply refresh the page now. Maybe ill try it on the laptop.
I think wanikani takes it into account if you refresh anyway and just leaves with what you have left.
Hey yeah, a lot of people use that behavior to âcheatâ and start over if they fail a review.
But if youâre really interested in more reviews for study, it would probably be better in the long run to install the self-study script instead of relying on un-documented work-arounds.
Hi, Thanks for that link i will look into that now.
I may have not written my point across that well.
Im not into getting 100% marks each time but rather keen to have a lengthy session where I can just keep going over and over and over and over each radical, kanji and vocabulary so that it really sticks in my memory. Does that make sense?
But hopefully the link you sent me will have that capability.
If itâs recent ones you want to go over, that script can certainly do that, but itâs a bit overkill with all the options youâve got. You can go over any items by level, SRS stage, etc.
For what youâre doing, it sounds like thereâs an even easier way:
When you pass a review, it goes to the next SRS stage and gets rescheduled to a new review farther out in time. That canât happen forever, obviously. There are only 8 stages. If you pass it again, youâre done with that item. Youâll never see the review again. Thatâs called âburningâ the item.
Some people DO want to see those again and make sure they stay memorized. Thatâs what that button does, it goes through those items that are supposedly finished.
