Here’s Kobo’s version for comparison

Ok, BW isn’t that crisp now that I’m actually paying attention to it.

It’s really a shame that publishers won’t offer proper scans for most manga. Given the cost of storage and bandwidth these days there’s really no excuse.

I saw the tag and was like how did Akashelia know I was lurking this thread? :innocent::joy:

aside on paper reading tools

Yes! Love my reading stand. Soggy got one too and if anyone is curious we both have pictures on our logs. Both of us were talking about getting magnifiers in some form, encouraged by Lisaveeta and Shannon-8. I better not tag everyone but yeah there’s been a lot of chatter about magnifying in the paper crowd. ATM it’s not urgent for me because children’s books have a nice size, and I have a giant delux version of Slam dunk, that now that I think about it is not an accident given the age of the original release and the age of the nostalgia crowd :grimacing:

I’ve got a magnifying glass - makes a huge difference

I think I’ve posted before, but I’ve got a shortcut on my phone to a magnifying glass app.

Hehe I didn’t know! But the thread has been quite active lately, maybe that’ll attract some new readers :eyes:
to the lurkers: READ NANA (don’t know why I wrote it in all caps, now that we all downloaded the magnifying glass app)

Haha that’s funny!

Come and join us for week 3 if you are ready for it!

Finished week 2 just in time to begin week 3 tomorrow!

Besides being text-heavy, this week was not too bad, but I often gave up trying to decipher the handwriting (also reading digitally). Thanks to everyone who posted notes/photos regarding the handwritten sections!

Thanks for chiming in. This seems to be a real problem, so I’ve included scans of the small sections in the next thread! Hope that’ll help with the accessibility!

タチ the return

Funny coincidence, just coming across it today with the meaning you had found :joy: (learned something new about what ネコ can mean too) (this is a BL manga by the way)

It’s from しまなみ誰そ彼 2. Read the first volume for my Bingo card “read a genre you don’t usually read” and actually enjoyed the manga so continuing the series! (It’s the most popular BL manga on Natively and has been read on WK before)

omg nice! this was one of the very first manga I added to my natively wishlist. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! I might get to this one in a couple of months

oh simias :joy: 今更?? where have you been hiding?

I discovered Yuri 6 months ago. I feel so clueless. Before I started studying Japanese the only manga I knew were the mainstream shounen stuff like dragon ball.

I totally get you, pre-WK forums entering my life, I had never heard of Yuri or BL either. I love how you made it all the way to IMC/IBC level before the big reveal. or are you on an ABC book I haven’t lurked on yet?

No Atelier was my initiation, the beautiful art drew me in. Before that I was reading on my own, mainly videogames and a few shounen manga from my youth.

It’s the same celebrity ( I think) whose haircut she copied back when she was dating 浅野さん.
