My journey was interrupted and now I need to recover

I haven’t been reviewing kanji for 2 months already, and now I have over 500 reviews to do. Most probably, I’ve forgotten many of those I learned before :pensive: Is there a way to review all of the old kanji? Has anybody had the same experience?

Yeah! Go through those 500 reviews. Take your time if you need to.

Just keep going through it at your own pace. Don’t feel bad when you fail items. It’s part of the process.

I would use one of the apps/scripts that allow ordering items by level and tackle one level at a time, so that you will get frequent exposure to the items that you remember less well. With the default settings on Wanikani it can be quite daunting to review such a large pile, because if you see an unknown item once every 3 days instead of every 4 or 8 hours, you’re very likely to keep failing it.

For people that haven’t gotten past lv 10 - and who are beg1nners at japanese - 1’d suggest start1ng over at a lower level. 1t doesn’t have to be lv 1, but maybe lv 3 and you can then make a second attempt at WK wh1ch 1s more calm and collected th1s t1me round.

Hi all,
I was trying to review my progress as it was recommended, but it turned out to be more complicated than I expected ;(
So, the best option for me was to reset my progress back to the first level. I hope it will help someone too :upside_down_face:
