My Journey of 368 days (+ The Ultimate Guide for WK šŸ“– )

this hit me hard, you’re right. That’s also what i find attractive about this guy…
But just now i’m getting aware that all my post are about how i’m trying to improve myself and beat my own demons.

@jprspereira you’ve got some really nice traits. You’ve done so many friends here, as a person who struggles to connect with others i really admire your charisma.

There’s something i read time ago and i can’t remember where but it was something on the lines that you have the responsibility to be the best you can be, and to find meaning and purpose in life and once you have your personal life in order it’s your responsibility to contribute something positive to other people and to reduce suffering where you see it. Because you have to pay forward all the gifts given to you by so many people that have lived and suffered to bring us to this time.

These are words that move me, but i’m still ignorant on how to properly make a stand to pull up people around me. You truly got it, and there’s more…

You’re a good example, and every good example is a fateful challenge. Because by looking at you growing and sharing nice words you’re delivering a hidden message that ā€œyou can be better than you areā€.

Thank you for paying it forward. And good luck

I started a mere month after you, been trying to catch you all this time.

Currently, I’m on track to finish on the same day that I started, (4th of July), but I’m getting ready to leave for Japan soon so that may just ruin my record right at the very end :joy:

I was also going to make a guide for going fast with WK, but it looks like you’ve done exactly what I’ve been doing so you’ll save me the trouble :ok_hand:

YES!!!
NO, U! D::::
Thank you

Haha, then we can motivate one another  Be ready for my random tags :3

You can’t imagine how much these words mean to me. I will  Thank you!!

Heeey! Welcome to the best community ever :v: Feel free to wander around the forums! Everyone is willing to help you out. Also, Wanikani is a very good tool, so you’re totally in the right place!

Thank you for the kind words!

Thank you! Your words are very important to me  To be honest, I think still I could have done better, but hey… that’s part of being human :stuck_out_tongue:

Shh, don’t mention it… I… I just read very fast. Yeah, that’s totally it.

It will be pretty much about the fact that starting from level 30, you’ll realize that the reward of learning the first 30 levels was way bigger than the reward you’ll get with the next 30. The motivation won’t be as big as before. This happens because the kanji in the first 30 levels are way more common. Also, being at level 30 means that Wanikani became part of your routine, but it’s still something that requires daily effort. People can get mixed feelings about this and demotivate.

Do you have any plans to keep building vocabulary? I was thinking of maybe going for a Core 6k/10k deck that had duplicate WK entries removed.

Thank you

Yoo @MissMisc @Borx @trunklayer Didn’t someone create a poll teaching how to make polls?

How couldn’t I always be in a good mood? I’m surrounded by great people

Thank you thank you thank you

Don’t ask me how that happen :joy:

Omg, right?! Wasn’t it like last month or something??? Life goes fast :scream: 笑

Oh nooo, a new challenge againnn :weary: I’M IN!

To be honest, I skipped yesterday’s reviews for the first time! Well, I did like 150… but you know that’s not enough. Right now I have 335 to do :eyes:

But yeah… just wait for it! I promise not to go easy on you in this lovely competition :3

Thank you  I’ll try to get it posted in here in the next 24 to 48h :v: If you wish to, I can tag you when it’s ready.

The level 30 syndrome is basically about the fact that starting from level 30, you’ll realize that the reward of learning the first 30 levels was way bigger than the reward you’ll get with the next 30. The motivation won’t be as big as before. This happens because the kanji in the first 30 levels are way more common. Thank you so much for your kind words! I just don’t see the point of doing it alone. Teamwork always win, right? And even if one gets to the top alone, who are they going to share it with?

Again, thank you  I will try my best!

Thanks mate :airplane:

250 was my max until I started the fast levels. Now I have around 300 and something. I do think that if I kept reviewing leeches during my entire WK journey, things would be better. A lot of those are 1 time mistakes too. I’m hopeful that the number will go now in the next 2 weeks  Let’s see.

It’s exactly this :joy: I wouldn’t be able to describe it any better :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’ve been stuck just under 200 leeches for a while, and I don’t have the patience to study them properly to get them to go away. I do wish I could just suspend them (speaking of features WaniKani should have added by now) since I’m not really learning them anyway.

i’ve skipped actual whole days of reviews since making level 60… and usually regretted it :cold_sweat: after i worked down that 500+ review pile i skipped a few days and before i knew it it was back up to 200 >_<

i’m not sure how much of a head start i have anymore so i’ll handicap myself by saying i have to get 0/0/0 on KW too  good luck!

(current status is 21 vocab lessons undone, 49 apprentice 7 of which are kanji, and 47 apprentice on KW)

I won’t waste time highlighting your WK accomplishments, for they have already been praised by the many above; but rather I’d like to give praise to your accomplishments that came as secondary and tertiary consequence to your efforts of reaching level 60 on a kanji-learning website.

Not enough can be said about the power you have to inspire others, whether it be you directly administering your words unto others, or that your sheer drive shines so brightly that others can’t help but notice, and in turn gives them the desire to do better. It takes a strong person to not only motivate themselves, but to burden themselves with the duty to motivate others.

I came here misguided, uninformed, and with no sense of direction; I was a lost boy. But you found me, and penetrated me deeply, over and over again… with your wisdom. Countless times I felt confused and defeated: ā€œwhy am I doing this?ā€, ā€œThere’s no way I can do thisā€, ā€œWhat the heck is a 乱交?ā€ But you were always there to pin me down, and hold me there, thrusting furiously with your rod of knowledge until you were satisfied… that I understood more clearly. You helped loosen me up, that’s for sure… to the idea of openly practicing other languages. I think I can speak for everyone here when I say, thank you. Thank you for impregnating me, for impregnating all of us, with your joy. We hope that you stick around to see us to our climaxes… of reaching level 60. I’ll never forget the things you taught me (even now I dream of them), and I’ll carry them in my pants with me, like in my pockets, forever.

When it’s all said and done, you’ve accomplished in a year what some only hope to accomplish in a lifetime. And it’s not just that you made substantial progress in learning a foreign language, but more so that, while doing so, you simultaneously inspired others to learn, to think, to grow, and to love. I don’t know if we’ll ever cross paths in real life, but I’m grateful to have crossed your path here, and I’m truly proud to say that I know you as a friend. For all that you’ve done for myself, and for this community, I hope to one day return the favor to you, and to others after me. Obrigado, meu irmao, meu amante. é ‘å¼µć‚ć†ļ¼

Col tutto l’amore nel mondo,

Omg thank you Cara! That’s really sweet. I know JP will be really happy to see that you share the same sentiment as I do. It means a lot to him, to touch as many of us as possible, with his insight. I’m glad you’ve felt his touch as well

That’s very impressive and congratulations!

But now… you have to learn how to hand-write all of those kanji
