It’s done! Guru’d the last lvl 60 kanjis today and got the final vocab added to my reviews. I also got the word yesterday that I passed the N2, so it’s been a great week in my journey.
I started studying Japanese and using Wanikani around September 2023 as I knew I would be going to live in Japan 6 months from then.
I was at level 20 when I actually got to Japan. From there I just kept grinding out the reviews. I passed N3 in July and now N2 in December.
I’m happy to be done with WK as it took a lot of time but it has payed off greatly. I’m now going to read a ton of books! Trying for N1 next July will be rough but I might as well go for it. I wasn’t actually sure I would pass N2 this time either but it worked out.
I didn’t read the forums much until this last month or so but it’s been fun lurking here. Good luck everyone and keep up the grind!

Thank you! Level 43 is where to so called “fast levels” start so at that point with the finish line being so close I wanted to just get it done. It was a major grind but I didn’t find remembering the kanjis to be much harder than the earlier levels, it was just keeping on top of all the vocab lessons that was tough. Looks like you’re almost done too, good work!
