There are so many listening resources listed on the resource page! Anyone know if there is an app similar to Wanikani but for listening? Combining SRS and mnemonic, read you something then ask you what it meant. Then show you the text in kanji and katagana. Wouldn’t that’s be nice? Is there such an app?
The only thing that comes to mind is Rosetta Stone, they show you things, read you things, write you things, and you’re expected to answer/repeat them. But it’s basically to learn Japanese from zero, and it’s also not always just saying, but also writing. (I think)
Oh, I forgot about https://supernative.tv/
From what I used it, it’s good.
Although I don’t remember if it had SRS, I think you can add words to that and then it does.
No mnemonics, though.
The supernative one is pretty cool
I made my own listening deck in anki from the core6k (and later my own) sentences… spoken word on the front, spoken context sentence on the back (along with word, translation, context sentence and its translation written out).
I sorted these on the context sentences using the morphman plugin so that I’d understand those more easily.
Nowadays I like to make the screen black and just use the spoken context sentence to check if I was right, reading only if that wasn’t enough. It’s pretty relaxed, I feel.
(If there’s an interest I could potentially spend some time polishing it into something I can share)
Tried supernative a bit. Looks super fun. The UI could use a bit of work though.
Thanks for the recommendation~
