1月28日 - Watched 名探偵コナン eps 256 and 257. 256 was as hard as I was expecting, thanks to all the poetry…so again, I understood at best 50%. 257 was much easier, though, thank goodness, so probably I got around 80% or so.
1月29日 - Watched eps 258 and 259. Understood slightly less than my average, so around 60% or so. Definitely fun episodes, though, thanks to the new character being introduced, James Black,and the first full conversation we get to hear from Akai!
Detective Conan
Yeah, it was hard to believe when I first realized. In some ways, it was good for me, since it pushed me to actually start studying Japanese, instead of just saying over and over that someday I would do it. 
But at the time, I was really upset, because I really wanted to watch right then! I don’t know where you are in the world, but hopefully it’s somewhere that you won’t end up having trouble finding the episodes!

I don’t want to give any spoilers, but if you just watched ep 70, you should be getting very close to the ep where Kaitou Kid first appears…
Well, I started Volume 1 back in January 2024, and I only finished Volume 16 on New Years Eve. It’s a pretty text-dense manga, so I was reading very slowly… Definitely worth it, though. And I’m speeding up a bit this year so far.
