Thanks @Daisoujou for sharing, that was really an enlightening video - really appreciated her telling how she learnt to pronounce the sounds and how her experiences differ from others.
This seems to just be a normal sorta travel vlog, but she’s an android. Sure, why not, might as well be an android. Having a gimmick made me post it here so it’s working, I guess. It makes her speech pretty clear and even paced, haha.
I’m glad someone watched and enjoyed it too! It’s so impressive that she learned to speak that way, wow.

A Tobira text about sports (6 min)
Another productive day; managed to keep up with the episode of ことのは日本語の会話 well, without spacing out halfway through… this is something I’ve been wanting to work on with podcasts, its hard for me to keep my attention on the same topic for more than ~10 minutes I’d say (not only am I more of a visual learner, I’m also easily distracted). I’m also starting a new chapter of Tobira, which is centered around sports - as someone who honestly doesn’t really do or watch any sports, it feels a bit foreign to me
I’m travelling today and tomorrow so I wasn’t sure how much listening I would be able to squeeze in so I listened to an episode of Nihongo con Teppei for Beginners to make sure I listened to something. But actually when I got back to my hotel I wasn’t tired so I ended up watching 4 episodes of はじめておつかい (with English subs so my husband could watch with me).
August 8th!
Today I listened to an episode of Nihongo con Teppei for Beginners. I also listened to about 2h of Japanese music in the car.
I watched Tokyo Story for my club today! Hey what in the world do people say in this movie . Movies are still really rough but maybe that’s half my fault for wanting to watch things that are 70 years old.
2 Episodes of JapanesePod101’s Lower Intermediate Season 1.
One was about ordering Pizza, and the other was a dialogue between a mother and child about not watching TV while eating.

Quite a bit of podcast listening since I went for some nice walks
My big breakthrough with podcasts was going on walks and listening to them then. I find it easier to focus on audio alone if I’m doing something else at the same time, though it needs to be an activity like walking or drawing or knitting that doesn’t take up too much brain power. As a bonus, it makes going on a walk more engaging, too!
EDIT: Oh, I just saw your last post and saw that you have discovered this same trick, haha!
I think there was one whole sentence spoken through the whole thing along with shark noises and ケロケロ. Highly advanced, not only did it require you to know Japanese it also required that you know Japanese Frog language.
I also watched a vlog about Hokkaido:
There’s a section explaining buying train tickets at one of the machines, and those things look kind of daunting, even if it was all in English; so many buttons!
I haven’t had chance for anymore Yakuza 0 yet, but hopefully soon.

できる猫は今日も有痛 4 and 5 (~40-45 min)
Finally caught up to できる猫 today. I felt like I was able to follow both episodes quite well, so it was quite an enjoyable experience. Also nice to get a bit more listening practice.
Funny enough, I realised I can focus better on podcasts while doing manual activities (folding laundry, cooking) then while going for a walk I think my mind just drifts off easily/gets distracted by all the stimulus from being outside. It’s probably because I prefer to relax and appreciate the view while walking
Akane! I’ve watched a vlog from her a while back of one of her travels, which I found really interesting. I know she has quite a bit of material, which I should explore some time… but I always end up sticking only to her podcasts.
I did extra reading today, so I had less listening time than I had hoped for. Still managed to squeeze in an episode of Nihongo con Teppei for Beginners though.
I had a class today, so lots of listening practise. We discussed what I’ve been up to during my week off, and also talked about my favourite board game, Cryptid.

We have a lot of house chores to do this weekend (Fridays are already weekend here, since my partner only works 4 days a week), such as painting the roof, cleaning the garden, bathing the cats and cleaning the house (they have fleas ) but I’ll try to squeeze a little listening in between, hopefully.
Over a week with no opportunity to listen to anything Japanese, I can’t wait to get back to it again.
Comprehensible Japanese - Momotaro(Japanese folktale)
Another folktale video, this one is a bit more interesting. Maybe bcause of the way she tells it.
I only knew the beginning of this story, but I was having trouble staying focused for so long so even the novelty of a new story couldn’t keep me engaged.
Fell asleep before writing my update yesterday!
I had a lesson with one of my tutors, we talked about what I’ve been doing on my week off, and reviewed the various meanings of using ~じゃない at the end of a sentence, since I still find that a bit confusing sometimes.
