王先生の毎日中国語・台湾華語 #105 2-year anniversary talk with students Part 2
Chinese grammar on adverbs, and travel phrases (not grammar). I would rather prefer more explanations or grammar, with exercises; but I haven’t found an alternative after the playlist earlier yet. At least short listening exercises.
Started a bit of Neon genesis Evangelion. Know nothing about it other than the theme music. It’s alright so far.
This episode of キャスター was more grounded, just slightly. Not saying much. 1 more episode left which comes out in the next few days.
I need to start some more anime, and I also need to finish off the outstanding stuff. I need some slice-of-life school type easy stuff, it’s been a while, and I’ve watched a lot of drama recently.

Well, I’m back after a short hiking holiday. I managed to listen to a podcast a day while I was away and last night finished up S2 進撃の巨人. Today’s efforts (so far, I’ll probably start on S3 進撃の巨人 tonight) are:

Looking at everything I listened to/watched today, and it was actually a really good day! Reading was a disaster, but I made good use of my time on the listening front, so I don’t mind.
Finished another Drama! This means I need to go find another one now… It was terrible. Don’t watch it. Honestly. Well actually it wasn’t so horrible to watch all the time, but god… suspending disbelief in that over-the-top Japanese drama way, but without any good bits or lightheartedness as payoff. Just for the sake of it.
Surprisingly, ピンポン anime is the hardest thing I’ve watched in quite a while. Harder than drama, harder than Neon Genesis. Having incredibly fast stylised subtitles for a Chinese character’s speech will do that, I guess. It’s my friend’s favourite anime though so I have to see it through for their sake.
I finished Lighthouse on Netflix! I really liked it!! I think it was a good challenge, but some of it was kind of hard to understand. Some words were more complex, but I think it was more so that their conversations were all pretty deep and emotionally complex haha. But I think it was good for me!
Hmm, if it’s something that looks interesting to you, I’d say yes!! Especially for anyone who like Gen Hoshino or Masayasu Wakabayashi
They had some (I thought) interesting conversations about things like: harder times when they were younger, interesting or frustrating moments in their careers, their current worries or things on their mind, how others affect their creative process, etc…
Some moments were really funny too haha. I feel like they were a really good combo for a talk show like that!
For each episode they have random stuff they talk about. But there’s also: a portion where they share little entries they wrote about their worries for that month, a portion where they hear about others current worries, and at the end a performance of a song Gen Hoshino wrote after their conversations.
There’s only 6 episodes and they’re also pretty short!! So if it sounds interesting, I think it would be an easy one to try out and you’d know after an episode if you like it
