Another lesson with mu tutor today. More exam prep and some discussion about my home town, and my plan to switch from hand writing my diary every day to just typing it up instead.
No listening at all this week, I’m afraid. I’ve been letting Zelda overtake my life recently, but mostly I’m running around taking pictures of everything so there isn’t much opportunity to listen to people.
I think I will return to using the Comprehensible Japanese playlists. I still have 27 videos in the current playlist left, so I’m going to challenge myself to finishing it all within this year.
Oh I love listening to this guy. Its really above my level but I am always happy when I understand the general idea (especially once I have the subtitles on).
Maybe I’ll quit Rebuild for now; main reason being each episode is too long (variable, but can be 3 hours). Another reason in listening in Player FM gives English suggestions only. Podbean allows setting region to Japan, so Japanese suggestions. (I might not progress native podcast here in the future, for now, though.)
Yuru Gengo Radio #59 in Podbean (58 min).
Nov 14, Tue
YUYU, 1 new episode. The latest one.
Daily Brief (news in JP in Podbean), 13-14 Nov (12 min).
本好きの下剋上 Vol.2 : ベンノの呼び出し (29 min)
Rebuild #372 (0-0:09, 9 min). I turned back on my words.
11月11日 (土)
Akane 193 (4 min). Since I was travelling this weekend, I didn’t have a lot of time to study, but wanted to at least listen to something short.
11月12日 (日)
FFXIV podcast, 十二神大好き (21 min): While I really enjoy the themes, the quality of the microphone + constant BG music make it quite hard to understand what she says, so I don’t often listen to this podcast. It’s still enjoyable, but hard to focus on.
11月13日 (月)
ことのは日本語の会話 50 (22 min): For the 50th episode, the girl’s talked about their favourite episodes and the directions they want to explore in the future. One point I particular enjoyed is that they want to give more guests who speak natural/normal Japanese (but also foreigners who speak fluently and live in JP for years), as opposed to Japanese teachers as guests, which is what I usually see in any other podcast.
11月14日 (火)
YUYU 230 (42 min): Another podcast on his university days and living in a dorm. Like the previous one, I found it quite interesting and ended up listening to it all in a day.
I am hoping to get a bit more N3-targeted practice in these few weeks before the exam, but we’ll see if I succeed.
11月15日 (水)
コツコツ日本語 77 and 82 (~24 min): One was about her hometown, and the other about traditions, such as how thunder was associated to Gods in the past, and how people react to sneezing differently in different countries.
Tobira: 3 minutes audio.
11月16日 (木)
Noriko 100 and 101 (20 min): For the 100th anniversary, Noriko interviewed one of her students from Sweden. The audio quality was reaaaally bad… but it was quite fun, so I stuck to it until the end
This weekend, I’m going to start the last chapter of Tobira; I’m happy to finish it before the JLPT.
Fallen down on posting daily in here because all I’ve been doing is 2-3 Nihongo con Teppei for Beginners episodes every day. Still listening every day, though! Finding it to be very comprehensible. I should probably start listening to his intermediate podcast, but I’m so lazy…maybe when the next listening challenge starts?
Another episode of Terrace House today.
Only 2 more left now!
I also had a lesson with my tutor, we did a bit of free talk about me handing my notice in at work, and then did exam prep including listening questions.
Today I watched the last 2 episodes of Terrace House Boys and Girls in the City, with my daughter. I was surprisingly sad that it was over, I enjoyed watching it a lot more than I expected.
I am going through the first 4 of these I did to check why I got them wrong. I will continue to do the actual tests during the week. Otherwise I continue my usual podcasts on my commute to work.
Been a bit more consistent with my listening this week, which is good, and I’m starting to see solid improvements since the start of the challenge!
Today I watched the first episode of Pokemon New Horizons, with Japanese subtitles. Managed to follow the plot well, and cound understand some big chunks, though fast dialogue between two characters is still very very challenging right now.
Few new words from today:
相棒 あいぼう pal/partner (now I realise why Sony’s dog is called Aibo haha)
香り かおり scent, Riku-chan’s 相棒ポケモン has an いい香り
探す さがす to look for/search for
I had no idea he had a faster one I might have to check this out and then slink back to his beginners podcast haha
It’s kind of confusing from all the podcasts that come up when you search him, but Nihongo con Teppei Z seems to be a continuation of Nihongo con Teppei Original, which seems to have been the first podcast he started before later making the easier beginner one.
