October 29th・30th:
Mainly did Satori Reader over the weekend, but I also watched the clip for my next translation assignment: a Vtuber’s Q&A. I’m honestly kind of surprised we’re translating this, but I’m also not complaining about it. 
The video was easy enough to follow, so no major comprehension issues there.

October 31st:
I started re-watching Made in Abyss today without subtitles. Maybe it is because the main characters are children, but it felt surprisingly easy. I understood a decent chunk of it. It might get harder with their descent though, when the language changes towards their struggle.

Supernative again, did not like it. I think I’ll stop using it for now. Instead I’ll stick with clearly enunciated dialog like Genki or Comprehensible Japanese. Maybe I’ll be less frustrated then.

As I read 人間椅子 for Halloween 
today, I thought I’d also listen to it. My initial intention was to follow along with the text, but I didn’t have the energy, so I listened to it like music instead, half-passively. I paid more attention to cadence, pitch, and stuff like that, rather than content and meaning. Any kind of listening is better than no listening, surely.

I’ve continued listening to the audiobook for 崩れる脳を抱きしめて | L36 and continue to think it’s well below 36. I’m enjoying the story well enough (it’s an easy read, nothing too deep nor fancy) but it’s voiced by a particular actor. He’s currently playing the main character, a doctor who I am supposed to be sympathetic to, but this actor also played the murderer/stalker in スマホを落としただけなのに and so it took awhile for my brain to accept that he was not a villian

November 1 
Two more episodes of Parasyte. There was a tiny reference to ゲゲゲの鬼太郎 and I was so proud I caught it and knew what it referred to 
And some more Migaku. I’m now level 33, whatever that means. It seems to me it takes much more to go up a level now, I used to jump up several levels with more mistakes before. Still no perfect run, and I still sometimes completely invert the pitch. It’s like I perceive the difference in pitch, but not necessarily whether it’s high or low.

A cute episode about a snowman was today’s Comprehensible Japanese video. Listening to a snowman complain about the cold is rather silly, but it helps with remembering words.

Whew, made it a month listening to something every day! Congrats to all who’ve stuck around so far.
The last couple of days, I decided to watch Terrace House (Aloha State). I remember watching some of it several years ago, but I never finished the season. Netflix showed me the last episode I was allegedly on, but I actually remember some things several episodes ahead. I don’t really feel like finding my last spot, though, so I’ll just keep going forward.
Speed really is my enemy. The commentators (mostly the men) talk so fast. My eyes are glued to the subtitles the whole time. 
Just gotta push through and train myself to catch things, I guess.

Nov 2, Wed of Week 6 of Fall 2022
Yesterday and today, I watched Yurucamp S2 EP.5-7. However, it isn’t really easy. There is a little thing about dialect.
Watching other series (Attack on Titan) on Netflix + VPN as well, but JP VPN sometimes has another problem – There is no EN sub, nor any language other than Japanese. With Language Reactor, even with JP sub on, only if there are other subs, it is easy to see those subs alongside when I need to.
Well, it’s probably not really that much problem if I can comprehend JP sub well (where in reality, comprehension varies). Then, I also wanted to see English / European names’ spelling.
I also watched this tragedy news during halloween night. I am probably not ready for such news media yet, if I were to be in Japan for any reason.
I watched the latest episode of Nihongo SWiTCH on advice on talking to strangers. Also, Noriko’s student’s about a place in Japan.
