Level 60, doing master's in Japan on MEXT, failed N1 last year

I finally reached level 60!!! I still have some vocab lessons, so not done with everything yet though.

I’m also doing my master’s in Japan by MEXT, which was my dream :star_struck:

I took N1 last year but failed by 3 points, but I’ll be retaking it this December. Hopefully, I pass this time…

I want to focus right now on getting a good score on JLPT, so doing a lot of practice exams and going through prep books.

I know that this post is a bit disorganized, but I just wanted to share my happiness that I’ve reached several important milestones in my Japanese learning journey. I want to do my best and become fluent in Japanese someday.

Thanks for reading!!!

P.S. These are my stats. I did reset twice: (40→30) and (57→51).

It sounds like you’ve worked really hard to get here and I’m really happy for you being able to pursue your dream!

Good luck with your N1, you’ve got this!:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Congrats on getting to level 60 and good luck on N1! I usually ask what’s next after WaniKani, but since I know you’re taking N1, what’s next after N1?

Thank you!! I was thinking about prepping for kanken exams lol. But in general I would like to improve my reading and speaking. Right now I am still embarrassingly bad at speaking to the point that I have my Japanese bf do most of the talking for me… I’m not in a rush to be able to write because at the moment it’s not something necessary for me to improve. So yeah… Still grinding haha
